As well as my other chores I made a start on getting the new shed filled and our garage emptied in readiness for the conversion to the PMP showroom and new office. I'm looking at the weather this week, free days are tomorrow and Wednesday should any weather suit our target locations for filming.
I hope you are enjoying our double dose of blogs for today, I've had a really exhausting day first clearing all the DVD orders received over the past few days and orders received at Detling and Cobham rallies. Then it was time to do some food shopping with Mandy and around this was the continued process of getting the Asia trip DVDs made and covers prepared. I'm now half way through the Taiwan visits. I'm hopimng to find time this evening to make the complaint to the Brunei police over the Brunei hotel which scammed Martin out of ariound £150 and Booking Com seem no to be complicit in the fraud. I'm asking our MP Esther McVey to get their tax affairs on UK earnings investigated, their whol business seems to stink and they are reviled in the trade just as Amazon dominate many areas of retail and dodge taxes . Tonights pictures are from Manila in the Philipines and are mostly taken at the docks, tomorrow some Jeepney shots. There are a whole range of paratransit types of vehicles, various vans and lorries as well as full size and mini buses plus the more well known types like the jeepney. As well as my other chores I made a start on getting the new shed filled and our garage emptied in readiness for the conversion to the PMP showroom and new office. I'm looking at the weather this week, free days are tomorrow and Wednesday should any weather suit our target locations for filming. Photo by John from Guanzhou as we await the next of the latest Hong Kong buses at Mongkok East interchange in March the day after my birthday! Next some shots taken last Friday in Tunbridge Wells. A glorious day today, clear blue sky and warm (ish) we could have handled a bit of that over the weekend. I'm finishing the last of the Hong Kong docks DVDs then I'll move on the Taiwan trucks and light rail etc.
Three hours back home from Brooklands wasn't bad for a Sunday evening, just about to have a flan and beans for dinner. Met lots of lovely people, friends, customers even relations! This comment of course applies to both Detling and Brooklands plus we had a great day filming at Tunbridge Wells on Friday. Loads of material to emerge from the Asia trip in due course and I've edited three of four truck films on Hong Kong Docks these and others will be on the PMP shop soonest. So any enjoyable weekend and we had two super hotels in Kent and Surrey. Back to the grindstone editing hopefully after a bit of a lay in tomorrow morning. As I've so much material to get through I'll treat you to both rallies this evening. At Deting it rained nearly all day, thankfully I film the vehicles arriving, the least wet part of the day whereas Brooklands the forcaste thunder and rain never happened and despite freezing in the museum the temperature outside had risen. Two great days which obviously took a tremendous effort to organise. The recent Asian trip has had a bad aftermath as the Brunei Hotel and Booking Com had conspired to defraud my traveling companion of not a fortune but a substantial sum, rather than admit an error and rectify it both parties have come up with some utter tripe about what payments have been made. Thankfully we have all the documentation and a photo of the staff involved which has been passed to the Brunei police, after the bad publicity the country has suffered in the past few days it is amazing they pursue this type of behaviour. I have now completed all the Hong Kong bus DVDs and about to start on the Hong Kong dock truck films. Tomorrow we go down to Kent, filming we hope at Tunbridge Wells then Detling rally Saturday and the Brooklands gathering in Surrey on Sunday. We will have just one copy of each DVD so if they sell at Detling they wont be at Brooklands. If you want anything putting aside you have a couple of hours left to ring us. We are loading the usual clip tralers on Youtube for the Asia trip. We return to the trip and now bring you photos from Brunei, yes such happy memories ( not). I guess the main things that everyone will be looking for is photos from the Asia trip, as we are out at the RNCM this evening and we have a lot of work to do I though I'd bring you some more photos from the trip which are actually working backwards so starting where we ended in Borneo and ending at Hong Kong. I'll be starting to make the first DVDs from the trip today, the first will be on buses and tram and of course lorries in Hong Kong. So lets get started with images The first batch of shots were on the return journey from Tenom to Kota Kanbalu or KK as it is generally know. The next batch were taken the day before as we headed north including the two changes of train required and the long layover in Beaufort. I arrived back at Manchester airport this morning where Many picked me up, an exhausting 24 hours travel back from Borneo and I am really zonked out with no sleep for nearly two days. I'm downloading the scenes in took on the trip, I estimate I must have captured about 20 hours of film and around 13 thousand stills which will be pruned down to the best shots. I'm not going to try anything technical like editing today but I have got the bird feeders filled, slug pellets laid down and the roses sprayed together with the lilies which as so susceptible to lilly beetle. My washing has already been done we've scrubbed my sandals in case I've imported anything nasty on them. Mandy has held the fort for me while I've been away. The orders have been fairly light , I think that is the case with most businesses in light of the continued torture that is Brexit. On board the flight from Abu Dhabi there was a medical emergency and quarantine squad awaited to board the aircraft and the patient whisked away, the young family sitting nearby were moved from their business class seats to the premium plus seats I was in as sweet talking the transfer desk at Abu Dhabi and bang went my empty row. We start our photo catch up with shots from Kota Kanabalu in Borneo. We shall be at Detling bus gathering on Saturday and Brooklands on Sunday with a great selection of resent PMP bus, tram and trolley releases, the truck stock has been seperated and will only be taken to suitable commercial vehicle events. Before I kest Kota Kinabalu I managed a morning filming trucks out near the container port, I'd fixed up a driver yesterday when we got back from tenom on the train. The weather was perfect this morning but by lunch time the temperature was zooming upwards. Kota and I'll airports leave a lot to be desired. I think being far from the capital Borneo or Sabah state gets a lot of cash thrown at it but most of the units at the airport are unoccupied. Ok is just big and confusing, I couldn't remember much from last year as I only landed here and then flew to Singapore, the transit second is chaotic and the lounge was so full I gave up booking in and went to Starbucks. Trying to get the Abu Dhabi flight seat to Manchester changed as it is .by the window, I prefer an ailsle seat. Better team off to bother gate now. Just remembered it is April 1st, did I tell you about the pygmy elephant railway they once had in bornea
