Difficult weather for filming lorries at Crick today, nowhere near as good as promised on the weather forecasts last night but that's hardly new. Anyway I got three hours from the trip, changing location early in the third as the M1 had ground to a halt and lorries diverted outbound via North side which we would have followed up eventually . I've started work on another batch of archives for Youtube and hope to get something on the OTA channel this week, we'll probably reduce the size of the watermark and locate to a more viewer friendly position. I'd like to show the depth and breadth of coverage the archive has on file. Meanwhile here are some photos from today , too much white stuff, really boring lorries on the whole, I've better locations so perhaps put this to bed for a couple of years. The full fibre internet provider is now moving into our road, this has, I know been long promised but is soon going to be a reality, this will enable us to get the backlog of digital downloads on our shop and to put Youtube clips on in seconds. We are off to the RNCM at Manchester for the lunchtime launch of the new season with a short recital. I'll have the next tranche of uploads on Youtube this evening, this will be Hong Kong Jan 2001, it looks stunning in HD with 50 fps, lightly treated with NEAT it looks like UHD. One of the many archive unedited resources to put on the shop. Meanwhile I need to edit yesterdays Oxford visit which in in the queue after the Hong Kong material. I thought it was all rather retro with the new students being besieged with jobs delivering pizza and membership of the communist party complete with hammer and sickle - I wonder if they watch the news at all, but sort of cute really. A quick blog tonight, we were filming in Oxford today, mixed sunshine and cloud, a little rain and crowds of tourists and new students arriving. All a bit challenging! The next batch of uploads to Youtube will be in Hong Kong 2001. Meanwhile we are at the RNCM tomorrow lunchtime for the launch of their new season. When we get back I'll get the Oxford film together. I've not forgotten the next archives on Midlands, East Midlands and Scotland. . Our next range of clips on Youtube mark the end of the old Ashok Leyland PD3 types in service. There will be around 6 clips which are at UHD and look stunning at 50fps. Meanwhile if the weather is suitable I'll be out and about with the camera tomorrow. The problems with the PMP shop are still not 100% resolved but the new items are now on albeit with limited descriptions. Following on with the Mumbai scene here are some shots from past trips there. We got our Covid boosters today. The Weebly shop item function isn't working, tried 2 browsers, I'll try again tomorrow, have also reported it to Weebly although that seldom shows any progress.
I went direct from church at Mobberley over to Birkenhead and the rain stopped as I neared the site, I managed to park 2 minutes walk away and enjoyed reacquainting myself with a show that we used to attend with the PMP sales stand. I met plenty of people I knew or knew me and the weather held off for the time I was there. I'll start editing the Hull film and Birkenhead plus I've a cover to do for the latest archive film I finished recently which covers Manchester and the surrounding areas. Here are some shots from Birkenhead. My latest model bus acquisition received this week Omnidekka Models Wright StreetDeck
