It was Remembrance Sunday, the locals gathered at St Oswalds during a break in the rain and then a service inside. Afterwards I drove to Crewe to pick up a phono to mini jack socket for the sound input into the camera from the projector on the 16mm sound films which I'd skipped around until I'd got the silent ones done first. I forgot to post some pictures I did the other night of the set up for the massive projector and I use one of my old Minidv cameras to record the 4/3 images. The was a Castle film on Hong Kong which actually featured the buses in the 60s and pre dates Alan Mortimers shots with KMB sans adverts of course at Nathan Road. It was still very quiet for traffic, how things change. I had a Waitrose steak pie with baked pots for dinner this evening, too full for pudding but I did have some chocolate this afternoon, can't get enough can you. I had a call from other transport traders for Sue Seniors funeral arrangements tomorrow, I guess there will be a lot of people there from their diverse interests and professions.
I must try and get out in the garage before bed time and have a crack at the cycle machine I did a bit earlier today but really haven't stopped at all. There was a tasty film on Tasman airways made in 1951 on Ebay but the bidding was getting pretty astronomical. If I start shifting some of the vast array I have on the floor here then I might be tempted to go for the more honeypot items which really on reflection have a lot more to offer than apparent bargains which actually deliver very little of interest. The posh people on holiday certainly were never interested in street scenes or even cities unless it was ancient ruins. Perhaps there will be more success in the 8mm sections. Anyway that's enough for now I must get the church address ready for the sat nav tomorrow.
