The PMP Website with Weebly is playing up so I'll abandon post for tonight!
The very busy week continued with my monthly meeting with Peter Waller Sec of the OTA. We had a chat about future progress on the archive scanning, maintaining equipment, promoting OTA, material going on the Youtube channel plus newsletter circulation and health of contributors and members. Tomorrow we have an afternoon cream tea with our branch of the Polio Fellowship and getting stock ready on Friday for an early start on Saturday sown to Surrey with the Brooklands spring gathering on Sunday. Hopefully next week the rain will abate so i can consider film venues. I have identified a few scraps of 'new' archives of UK buses but nothing major albeit material worldwide queues up to be loved! meanwhile looking back at the last week we return to High Wycombe We had the funeral of my cousin Steve Vincent today, huge turn out and lots of classic cars and more importantly the chance to see family particularly those who have had medical issues and catch up with everyone. Its get tiring, back still iffy, second trip south of London then another Saturday for Brooklands. If anyone want anything special taking to Brooklands please let me know as we have limited capacity these days! Some more shots from Lymm, just edited the two DVDs. We had a good run back up from Detling this evening but when we arrived home the first bad weather struck so I've put off unloading the car until the morning, its the NWVRT members day tomorrow but it doesn't start until 10am so if I'm up about 7.30 I can get everything done. There is a new format to the members day which means I can't have a stand at Kirkby but we shall have a wide range there on the annual running day in June. So I'm ready for a sit down, here are some views from Detling. On Friday we covered High Wycombe and Uxbridge.. The car is packed, keeping up with weather is hard, at present it is very high winds for Friday in Kent so we'll avoid this and come down to arrive at Detling about 3.30 and set up. We've now booked the Outlands Park hotel for Brooklands event. The weather this Saturday at Detling is supposed to be hot and sunny, fingers crossed. It has been a hard day, back still painful. Anyway a lot done, new films and stills on the shop and list updated.
I've updated the DVD stock so we shall have at least one DVD of releases from the last 3 years plus some others which may be of interest for both Detling and Brooklands. The latest releases with two events which need editing Kirkby Stephen and Widnes running days - I'll make sure these are done by tomorrow. We'll need to load the car, my back is very painful at the moment though. I'll get the remaining three Malta still clips on to Youtube this afternoon. Later I'll add lorries and other commercials in similar fashion. I've now put all my modelling equipment away and I would think it will be autumn before I start on the next section which needs upgrading which in real time represents 1960-70's. A bit of demolition required for that. Meanwhile some shots from Lymm Poplar services yesterday. Every time you think you are getting ahead then something knocks you back. This time I discovered that the DVD drive had replicated the same film 6 times but as only 2 are on the shop there are only a couple to replace and I found it before the customers did. I took a few more shots of the various dioramas which are at three levels where I've had the panels open. It certainly comes out better by using the video camera for stills. Hope you like them, tomorrow it will be lorries at Lymm, I did some more house keeping with the foliage, it is getting quite under control with my gardening episodes.
A wet morning for the 50th anniversary running day marking the half century since Halton was formed from Widnes Corporation. Not a lot of buses but plenty of riders. I'm currently scanning the Ivor Harding cine films and at the same time making yet another of the still photo DVDs of my Malta shots, hundreds on each DVD also watermarked copy on Youtube for the full hit free. You can also download like all the other recent DVDs ( when I've put them on the shop). |
