I think I have everything I need sorted ready for the flight tomorrow ( Monday) to Bangladesh where I arrive Tuesday morning. We were at Brooklands today, nice to see a few friends but generally numbers of buses and people seemed to be well down. We are now on our last couple of rallies with the stand, only one booked is Alton but we shall probably have some stock at Kirkby at our running day. Here are some shots from today. Up early today as I've got a lot of jobs to complete before I go down to Brooklands via filming in Kingston upon Thames and then pick up some film in Croydon and then on to our hotel which is near Brooklands. Meanwhile some more truck shots in Penrith. Lots going on as I prepare final arrangements for Bangladesh trip and news from China on the models plus more photos from my trip to Penrith yesterday. I'm also getting the covers ready for Detling and Tunbridge Wells films. From China, the news is that the castings for the Singapore model bus are complete at the factory and the next stage is painting. The London models of 'big red double deck electric buses' are behind the First artic which is waiting on the Singapore bus to complete. Brilliant Buses are looking ahead as reported previously and are considering options which may include some UK and Irish buses, an outsider one from India but all that is a long way off. I'm really on the slope down to going on the Bangladesh trip with the exception of heading to Kingston On Thames Saturday morning and picking up film in Croydon before reaching our hotel in Surrey ready for the Brooklands event Sunday then straight back home charge any batteries and be ready for leaving Manchester airport Monday afternoon. Some shots from Penrith today. I'm hoping to have a trip north tomorrow on a truck expedition to see what has happened to my spot at Penrith, if filming is impossible I'll continue north to Carlisle. I've already loaded a few films on Youtube today and the Tunbridge Wells film is almost uploaded with Detling to follow. Meanwhile a few photos from Tunbridge Wells The roads seem very quiet this weekend, I guess it is the lull before the Easter holiday storm of travel, anyway an all time record, back from Detling to home in 3.5 hours. Here is a first selection of shots from the Kent Show ground this morning, everything ran like clock work today and we met many friends throughout the event. We have just got back from a performance at the RNCM, then early tomorrow morning we are heading to Tunbridge Wells and will set up at Detling then overnight in the village and see many of you at the showground there on Saturday for the South of England Bus Show.
I certainly seem to be getting tired a lot with busy days, we didn't leave early to Derby and after filming we had a look at the museum, cafe was nice. I'm now getting recent stock topped up ready for the Detling South East Bus Show, we'll hopefully be al set up by 4pm, planning to stop off at High Wycombe although it could be Tunbridge Wells. Tomorrow we have the dentist check and hopefully a bridge where I lost a tooth last year. Then Thursday need not be too late whatever as we have an opera at RNCM plus a reception. Friday down to Kent. Next week is clear at present except for Thursday. I've sorted out a few 400' reels and forked out a wallop for some on Ebay so I can get cracking on the latest trolleybus collection I'm digitising for OTA and the donor. I need to get covers done and latest films on the shop.
