I got a claim from some Egyptian person ref a Google search which picked up them using my film in 1997 in Cairo. He is counterclaiming against me, not a big issue as it is only the second time in decades this has happened but the last one was in Indonesia and 99% of all claims against theft of material come from Asia where copyright is scorned. Anyway I've taken the clip down so they can't steal it again and as you may know I now watermark our films but now show them in full, clean copies in HD are just £9 sent by dropbox worldwide. Happy they liked it so much they wanted to steal it, perhaps if they had asked I'd have let them use the 2 minutes they used.
Well we are all packed and ready to go. The tooth situation is ongoing now on antibiotic course to fight the cyst which must still be there, only getting occasional pain and have pain killers etc. We shared our second cake with the folk at St Wilfrids after morning service. We've done everything I can think of and even completed yet another of Dave Coles films from early 90's this one being Berlin and surrounding systems. It has come out very well cleaned up with NEAT and in HD. If everyone used NEAT editing old material there would be 100 software scammers out of a business altogether, all that glistens and is cheap doesn't usually do the job. Anyway I was looking at more still images to put on films and have many options. For Manchester area it seems in have 10k images for instance. We can pick up on that in July. Meanwhile I discovered shots miss filed and some interesting ones at that. How about these If any orders are received today or up to lunch time Sunday we'll do our best and have them in the post as we leave on Monday. First down to Cannock then to Stansted and on our way to Albania, I'll make sure I keep hold of my camera bag at all times! Thanks for your wishes and cards for our Golden Wedding Anniversary next Friday and fingers crossed I've some trucks and buses from Albania to bing you. Lots more of these limited editions to add although I've an inkling another Still image collection will be ready before we leave.
I'll clear any orders received Saturday then it will be July 7th that we return from our summer break hopefully with some shots as well as sun tan!
Not sure what all the police were doing, I thought perhaps responding to the cry that the heart and soul of Crewe has been stolen but at least the new bus station is up and running and considering the state the old facility had fallen to it was about time. Lots of land free and the multi story car park, way swamps the town will release yet more acres to have soulless concrete jungles built. Super session at the new bus station where last time we filmed it was still all temporary and since then the monster car park has risen. Very friendly although services aren't quite like Stockport yesterday! Today Mandy had a tooth extracted, then would you believe one of mine was on borrowed time started to hurt when we got back home, luckily I've got an appointment to take it out on Friday as it is all a bit of a nightmare we go on holiday Monday. Trying to park in Stockport is impossible unless you are aged about 12 years old, there are no ordinary tap your card machines, these all want apples on your phone or something daft. I eventually found a non residents parking permit area near Cheadle and went in via Stagecoach, some very iffy characters going inwards but coming back later normal folk starting the evening commute. I really dislike subterranean bus stations even with grass on the roof, an ocean of concrete but good for arriving bus photos. So what do you see when you arrive in Blackpool.. we shall see what we saw On the positive side...... ???? Oh it's like that so you had a new car park, how much did it cost £9. Thats a lot it must have lots of posh features like toilets, no. You have to put your card somewhere and punch in your numberplate to get back in. OK was that easy. No third try lucky, just guess. So was that all the paying done, no. Next when you got in and have a problem if you press the help button is it the same as the toilet and the car park entrance, yes identical. Voice mail telling you to go home and send them an email about your problem. So was any of it any help, no. Even getting out in your car was hard, where you exit sharp left to a closed wall ( it lifts) it says go straight on , problem? Yes it means go sharp left. What was it about the toilet, I paid by card as it doesn't say and then got stuck in the gate. Number to ring, yes, recording can you go home and send them an email about your problem. So other than the illegal who had threatened people in the pub mid morning and spilled out onto the pavement, well this was just one of dozens of dodgy looking people screaming at each other. Perhaps sans interesting trams the smart new ones impress, they now look quite shabby unless they are lucky and get a new wrap for advertising.
Although woodpeckers are common on our trees and feeders this is the first time we've seen a pair, the new 'clean' peanuts seem to hit the right spot for them. Certainly the male is probably a juvenile as the red spot covers his whole head it retreats a bit as they grow. The only ones I've seen as pairs before were green woodpeckers. I've been scanning some more of John Bishops cine films, some very late for cine into early 1990s butt great quality S8. I've added another German trip by Dave Cole to our early numbered films on HD digital I'll do the same again as time permits. They all seem to be doing ok on Youtube. Next still images films will be on Blackpool, I've all the images on an external drive, just need to prune any duplicates. Meanwhile out of the pond of images here is our daily ration for you. Our latest limited edition of material never released on DVD and it takes us back just before Czechoslovakia split and before Germany reunited. The camera work is by Dave Cole. I've also digitised a Sussex film previously on DVD but before our friend John Bishop went over to digital video. An interesting time in Eastbourne as Eastbourne Buses was on its knees and there was competition. In the old screen format but in HD at 50fps. The next work will be by Dave Cole again and a similar period to No14. I'm also 'cleaning' up an old Online Video film, part two of Blackpool which should be on the Online Transport Archive Youtube channel this evening. I'm quite pleased with the standard we are achieving on these old films particularly aimed at the digital market and I suppose those who are sticking it out until 2028 when I cease to make films on DVD. Remember everything can be supplied as a download for just £9. As we near our Golden Wedding Anniversary some more shots of Dave and Mandy life and travels which get us away from transport. We hope you enjoyed and had a good giggle at the C5 broadcast in which we featured, not sure I like being described as 'elderly'. I know that a lot of you caught the broadcast and it has already brought new followers to our site. I'm hoping to cover new tram route in Blackpool next week and Stockport for the new bus station. Oxford is high on the list for its electrics. Then we are off to Albania to celebrate our anniversary and look at the transport scene there plus enjoy soaking up the heat and sun. To start the ball rolling some scenes from my day job! The next batch of shots are from various long distance walks for fund raising and pilgrimages, Mandy offered logistical support, dab hand at meeting us middle of nowhere with lunch or dry clothes. The British Polio Fellowship events, meetings, teas etc Our new range of films under the Special Edition brand are early VHS releases which never made it to DVD, now they are being upgraded to DVD and you can purchase them as downloads or for a short while as DVDs, remember at the latest DVD production will stop be March 2028.
Tonight we feature in the Motorway Hotel which was filmed a year ago and it will be the third programme in which Mandy and Dave appear, we even get a plug for PMP Films as Dave had his PMP hi vis on. |
PMP Sponsors the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust at Kirkby.
