Brassed off a bit with Showbus, not the cancellation but putting the onus on people to remember how they made the stand payment and having to send bank details, I've even offered for them to carry it over to next year, I'm so busy, really on the brink, really glad it has off the list but why should I have to jump hoops to get my money back.
With another clutch of DVD orders I'm again racing to stand still with another weeks worth of filming to be edited and nearly a month of films needing DVD covers. No feedback yet on the Friends of PMP launched at very low key yesterday. I'll hammer it once past 1st July the official launch date. Another dull cloudy day in Cheshire, still no sign of anything other than humid days and nights with no sun at all. Perhaps tomorrow I'll get a chance to make some film covers and get them on the shop. I will of course go back to the 1996-97 truck films at some stage.
We had our anniversary pub dinner tonight. A memorable concert yesterday, Mandy took some pictures on her phone but we don't know how to get them downloaded, best shop is to send them to my phone them I'll email them to save and post. Why is everything so damned complicated with these silly computer phones. Worst thing ever invented, wish I was back with my old 'brick'. Having achieved the promised 150,000 on our Flickr website I've quietly launched the 'friends of PMP' which at present has the main advantage with access to all the photos from my collection which I've loaded, many more to be added and a process which will grow each week.
It is our 51st wedding anniversary today, we were at the Bridgewater Hall this afternoon where the RNCM symphony orchestra played to a packed audience as part of a weekend of culture in Manchester. It was Mahler's 2nd the Resurrection symphony. 10 minutes standing ovation, what a way to end the academic year. Mowed the lawns so we can sit out tomorrow, if the weather carries on as warm and sunny as it still is. actually BBC said it would be cloudy all day and much cooler. To round off some more piccies from the last weeks travels The weather in Cheshire is the same as ever, damp, windy, cloudy, cool - oh but global warming ever hit the North West. We are wading our way through myriad DVD orders. Another look at our travels over the past two weeks, this time to Felixstowe Port and also our August Buses advert.
Today I filmed Norwich buses and buses at Boston, it was sunny and it must be ok 7am but once the suns way up it is always the wrong way for the buses, anyway that ones out of my system now. So some photos from today.
Yes today I must tackle the great backlog which of course means there will be lots of lovely new films for you to watch. I need to place the advert with Buses magazine today. I'm not sure where I'll film the rest of this week but the batteries are all recharged and raring to go. Meanwhile here is a selection from my visit to Southampton docks last week. I don't think I've been so cold at a rally in June, it was cloudy to start, windy and later wet but we stuck it through to the end, third last car in the park. I did did go out and put a coat on, thank goodness I did, it paid off to start but I ended up just shaking. I guess I wasn't meant to be in such a climate, what happened to the heatwave, not in Cheshire there wasn't. There was however an awful lot of lorries and that is what counts. I took many hours of films and have already caught up d for as my Isle of Wight trip which means there is loads of film to be edited in the coming week. I'm not at all sure where I'll end up but Monday In will stay at base and catch up and make sure all the film orders are sent out. in the mean time a few more tasters on what we saw as ever we indeed did see what we shall see!!
My hatred for most things American just continues to grow, mind you when you are playing with programmes like Wondershare HK entities seem pretty close to being run be lunatics. Thankfully I've got back to where I was, just more time while I remember the quick fix but need to check updates are switched off. I like Windows XP and 7 was tolerable, after that it was a world of computer games people trying to make jobs 100 times harder.
Back in the real world a great day at Kelsall, the BBC weather forecast was 100 % wrong for Cheshire, bright early morning then clouds and intermittent rain throughout the day until 4pm when brightened up and went warm. I carried heavy bottles of water ready for the heat wave , I actually had goose pimples when the rain was hitting hard for a while. Where should we start there was so much going on, lots of great things to say but two little suggestions, bongo drum music all afternoon in the ERF field was torture to my ears and in general that type of thing may well lead to strikes for people posting on Youtube. The tractor and lawn mower racing folks were creating a much better sound track. The other niggle is an outfit Cheshire Truck Parts or something like that, stuck leaflets under wipers on hundreds of lorries to annoyance of owners and photographers, I saw most people get them straight off if they happened to return in the afternoon and see the leaflets. I'm sure the organisers could provide better advertising opportunities if requested. It can only be a taster and I've masses of editing to do. Perhaps it should have been Friday 13th today, coming back from Poole I left at 13.45 and got home 19.15, all the favourite hold ups and eventually got bach and just sorting the orders out. I might as well go back to the beginning of the trip which was IOW on Wednesday just avoiding the festival, fancy managing after three years to nearly clash with all that.
Thanks as ever to Roy Finney for such wonderful models to join my collection. Tomorrow I'm on the IOW and then Southhampton, Bournemouth and Poole. Next week all being well Scotland.
