Also the Chinese company Brilliant Buses have plans for other UK based models. More news as the week goes on. Pre orders are going to be facilitated via the PMP shop and then sent on to Brilliant Buses in China. The pre orders will appear later this week. They are top spec models incorporating all interior detail as well as amazing quality decals. The models will go into production line early 2025. Prices around £96 plus postage. Town & District weekend Saturday 31st August. Tomorrow I think I may give Keighley a whirl, Buses event in Northamptonshire said they were already full on Saturday morning.
When we saw th3e details coming through on the Beaumaris tragedy we realised how close a shave we had had. A car travelling fast around the small crowded street to the pier had caught up the horse wagon ride and swerved to miss it and headed straight across a pavement taking out 3 pedestrians and straight into a house. We had been at the hotel next door a few minutes before and left around the corner Renae and Sam took a snap of the horse cart and had noticed all the occupants had a look of horror on their faces. Today thankfully was less dramatic spent in the Peak district.
I'll be at Gaydon Saturday ( Classic trucks), MTT running day Liverpool Sunday. A couple of shots from today It is hard to believe that the tragic events today in Beaumaris were just seconds after we had turned the corner, we heard the crash and a car roared away and then the helicopter came. By then are guests and ourselves were around the corner by the castle, Renae and Sam were taking pictures of the castle. We didn't know what had happened until after we left Red Wharf Bay where we had our honeymoon.
Happy bank holiday to our UK viewers and we are just as busy as ever and hope that the Leyland/Fishwicks running day at Leyland was as good for you as I enjoyed. We still have Renae and Sam, Mandy's second cousins grandchildren from New Zealand and for an outing we are going to Chester. I'm going to put up another golden oldie on Blackpool trams today on our Youtube site, copied to Facebook. Then I must get the Irish trip out of the way as I need to do the Buses advert. Thanks to all who arranged the day and brought the buses etc, we had two from Kirkby, I wore our NWVRT uniform shirt and jacket to spread the word. A great day where we raced to beat the rain and got away lunch time. Mandy had taken our young relations from NZ to see some of their Manchester heritage. We are having Sunday lunch at the Crown.
Just waiting for Mandy's family to arrive, we had a night at our lovely neighbours next door but one , a tad jaded this morning. I've put some more Belgium tram archives on Youtube. I need to make a cover for latest German tram DVD / Film and thankfully have completed the huge DVD order we got a couple of days back. Tomorrow Leyland Ribble/ Fishwicks running day, a superb event well worth visiting.
We are working through a very large order for DVDs and we also have had great feedback from yet another 'mature' customer who has dipped into the world of digital downloads. Watch out for some great uploads to our Youtube channel over the next few days. The weather here has been really wet overnight but seems to be drying up. Our guests, relations from New Zealand are now arriving Saturday rather than today, that fits in fine with all the work we have in front of us. We just had a call from Dave's cousin in Australia so an antipodean weekend. Meanwhile we start our promotion of the next NWVRT at Kirkby the nocturnal running day in November. We bring you views of buses in Limerick and our first electric lorry shot in Limerick. Not just busy today but probably next week as both DVD and Digital Download orders pour in. Obviously as we head towards the end of the DVD era people who are not digitalised are getting what they want now. Fingers crossed that all the kit holds out as I'm not going through that awful £400 DVD printer repair again. I'm with Peter Waller of Online Archive today in Shrewsbury, handing over yet another collection. Next a bit of a sneak preview of our friends at Brilliant Buses in China with some snaps sneaked out of the factory of their first UK prototype models. Remember the competition to request a favourite model for Brilliant Buses to make, well the winner's choice is almost at pre production stage when we'll get hi-res pictures. Meanwhile photos of lorries at Clonmel in Ireland last week.
Not enough minutes in the day but all the DVD orders are getting sent out today, Mandy is getting the larger packages ready and the smaller ones are all ready to post. I noted that the news from Bangladesh is getting a bit more settled and although protests are held they are now peaceful and floods are a more important topic together with traffic conditions. Buses featured in the photos so some good news, perhaps we shall get there in November. Meanwhile here are some bus scenes from Waterford on Wednesday last week. |
