The day has flown by very fast, I started about 7.45 making tea while I got the DVDs and covers ready for Mandy to pack the orders, there aren't that many this week it's been almost eerily quiet. Anyway I'm sure the rush will start again soon enough. I had to get all the Standard 8 remainders mainly from 50' reels on to the computer thankfully I'd done them with the HD camera but it has to be enlarged a lot to compensate for the wide screen effect down to standard screen size. Then I had to list them all on EBay to resell and finally copy on to my Youtube channel plus somewhere along the line do mt Buses magazine advert for January. We did a few odd jobs like a tiny piece of mould on the window surround on the bedroom wall which needed treating, I'll have to find the paint pot and dab on some colour its a very small area. I tidied away the covers for recent DVD releases and trimmed the ones which we keep as stock. I set up the Super 8 cine projector John Bishop gave me recently and got the sound linked in , just a few of those Super 8 reels have sound, the Std 8 with sound had to go without as I had nothing which would play with sound. Among the first of the Super 8 reels to be dealt with was a superb one covering Gibraltar in great detail then another with clips from the Look At Life series by Rank. I'm now set to run through the rest which are mainly on 400' reels and give about 30 mins each reel. I'm particularly interested to see what the Burma and Malta reels reveal, if anything. The format is light years better than Std 8. I haven't looked at the weather forecast going forwards as yet, we have some jobs to do tomorrow and Mandy has arranged a furniture restorer to pick up our nest of tables to get them resurfaced as we couldn't find anything we liked enough to replace them, everything is so chunky at the moment in the shops. Lets look back now at Bradford on Monday afternoon. I'm under pressure to consider the now vacant position of church warden at St Oswalds in our village but my views on the C of E are well known and whilst an affectionate congregation it is still a bit WI and Conservative party at prayer, I rather liked Jane's thought that we could have a sponsored sleep out, I ventured that the patron saint St Oswald would be an appropriate inspiration as he was renowned for his philanthropic kingship rather than a martyrdom.
