It would have worked perfectly if I had a slightly earlier start but we were up at 5am and Mandy drove over to Holyhead for the ferry to Ireland, she returns a week today. I had already got most of the DVD orders sorted, there was just one more parcel and a flurry of orders for Australia and I was round at the post office 5 to 9 so i was first in the queue. This worked fine and the podst was soon soerted. I carried on heading as usual these days to get the M60 around Manchester but the road works on the dual carriageway upgrade off the Knutford junction towards Altricham were backed up for almost the entire length and I turned around and braved the M6 and then M60/M62 which considering there was thick fof over the peaks wasn't as bad as it could have been and the light was just right. A lot has changed in the bus scene in Halifax since my last visit with Halifax Bus Co Walsh's that is have gained many vehicles and then the Yorkshire Ripper fleet have a rake of deckers from Arriva main fleets, still lots of pots of paint going the rounds. First Group in Halifax have also found some paint and there is almost a local identity creeping in here, shame they just can't admit its a rap colour scheme and go 100% for local branding based on historic precedents, nearly every heritage vehicle around the country has looked better for a decent livery. I used the bus to get in from the outskirts and saved both money and stress then after i'd done in Halifax caught the bus over the moors to Bradford with some quite dense fog at height, I thought we might come through the clouds like the Shard did in London yesterday. Streetlites galore in Bradford, lots of school workings which I can now capture on weekday shoots. So then it was back to Halifax, fell asleep a very quick journey you could say, I woke up in Halifax near the bus station. Then got a Huddersfield bus dropping me back off on the Huddersfield Rd towards Ellen. Photos start tonight with Halifax. Just cooked my dinner ( soup in microwave). Tomorrow I start tidying the garage and shed, getting the eBay auction stock out of the house to the garage once cleared and start to assemble my new exercise bike which i look forward to like toothache. Then it will be the start of copying the cine films which i've accumulated. Comments are closed.
