Great news, earlier this week Online Transport Archive (OTA) received the keys to our new storage facility, this marks a watershed in the development of the archive. Our work continues on scanning slides by the thousands and digitising cine film, also we are now receiving video in many formates. Remember whatever your interest in transport and social scenes around the world we are more than ever now equipped to give your treasured work a secure life in posterity.
I've been trying to download pictures I took last night at the RNCM Gala, I've spent hours and no way can I find a route to get them off this wretched Galaxy and on to the pc or external storage. Mind you it is two years since I started trying to get Uber on my phone , still trying like most back up they are 100% unhelpful. I regret letting Mandys old camera go in favour of the new one which is awful, the other had nice quicks functions and downloaded in seconds, their sales team lied and stitched me up and I paid £800 for that. I got the branch British Polio Fellowship newsletter done, we have our AGM this coming Thursday, I'll soon be having my first Trustee meeting on zoom for the OTA. Last night at the Gala with 100 guests we raised £50,000 which will give a lift to a number of students seeking to pursue their careers in music, RNCM is the only British conservatoire that runs modern and classical courses alongside each other. All students and staff can join the college gospel choir which gives everyone to let their hair down and meet a wider range of people than just their own speciality. Some of last nights music we had covered in the last few week but a welcome second helping from Tim Burgess and the Charlatans and violinist Helen O'Hara Dexys Midnight Runners She played with them from 1982 to 1987, including performing on songs such as "Come on Eileen" which we didn't have last night but we did last week with the Session band programme. The set up was similar to the last Gala ( see picture) which marked the college's 50th anniversary. The various sessions included the concert hall, theatre, mezzanine floor and canteen area and not least , the main stage. Comments are closed.
