A good but long day out down in Oxfordshire, with Mandy it helps to share the driving, this is our furthest south trip so far this year. Not that many tourists about and buses a lot thinner on the ground, Oxford is another location where public transport is scorned and the council has got the bus operators to agree to remove duplication on busy stretched as the driver demand here like the whole country is a sorry tale of unfilled vacancies. The far from the east of Clacton lads are now adding to the fun on the High Street junction by the tower, the taxis all turn round at the lights, the moped cardboard food carries are all over the pavement, cyclists and scooter riders go anywhere against the lights or traffic flow and I witnessed, even filmed two near misses of buses and cyclists plus pedestrians. It was worth going down to Didcot to catch up after our exploratory visit last year , the whole fleet seems to have changed now. A swift run back up the M40 with a stop at M&S at Banbury. Today we have our British Polio Fellowship meeting plus get both our hair done, Mandy is already out, we've also got a real stack of multi DVD orders. I've neared the end of scanning the Bubb family cine collection, one file hadn't copied correctly so I'm redoing that. Overall a lot more material than I'd previously handled but a chunk of rail film isn't with the others. As it has been in their attic possibly there are other reels so another investigation required. When I get this lot done I've the S VHS C tapes to go through. Meanwhile before I have to go out here are some shots from Oxford yesterday. Comments are closed.
