A very long day, sorry i couldn't get anything on the blog at the Mexico City airport but like many things there the veneer of normality can be a little thin. In fact we nearly walked our legs off twice around the terminal following the VIP lounge signs only to find the one we could use was miles away but thankfully it was near or next to our boarding gate for the BA flight back to Heathrow which arrived back pretty well on time. A bumpy rough flight with a snorer who would have woken the dead. We had the drive back across Mexico from Guadalajara to Mexico City broken by a short stop off at one of the other state capitals en route whose name escapes me, Medaleo or something like that, they have police as guides at the palace or old state building, all very nice atmosphere in fact we never felt threatened at any time on the trip so not really sire where all the horror stories were coming from . Our last day in Guadalajara filming has already been covered so other than a brief stop for a few minutes truck film on the way out and brief stop over there was no more filming. I'm just downloading all the film, horror story with email which never worked, it didn't when I got home, I was one of 200,000 thousand EE Orange BT customers whose passwords were wiped out after the underground fire in London the other week, thankfully great advice on the net and I got through on a special number and an Indian chap had it fixed in 5 minutes, then 200 emails to work through. I've cleared away most of my stuff got myself ready for work in the morning, downloaded the PMP orders, fed the birds, opened up EBay purchases of cine films and new stock of mini dv tapes for copying them. I missed a great sounding truck film due to the email hiatus whilst away. The Orange phone didn't work in Mexico but Mandy followed progress via the blog. It was a good trip, very memorable. Generally Mexicans are like Cubans they don't do service well but when you've cracked the ice and got a rapport going they are wonderful. A bit shattered, Mandy is dropping Sue off on her way back up from covering the Cobham / Brooklands event, the weather there looked miserable as far as Heathrow but was better the further north I went. Hoping for better weather next weekend to enable the N Irish trip to Cultra to go ahead. Photos from Mexico City Comments are closed.
