The new Leyland Fanfare coach model from Oxford in Southdown livery arrived today together with the Tarmac liveried AEC Tipper. Once again they have opted for a very dark version of Southdown green, it's hard to be subjective about these things, when new with lots of lovely varnish and in the right light it could be passable although it's strange that it matches nobody else's take on the colours at all. There are other consideration on such a small area the colour can look different than on a full sized bus. Anyway other than that it looks just right and it will be good to see the Triumph version later. Southdown coaches rather hog Oxford bus releases in the near future, fingers crossed they turn to double deckers sometime soon. I got another couple of models today both from the Atlas editions World Buses range, I think they must have crept out of the factory by the back door, they are a little basic but the right scale and its so rare to see them in 'our' scale rather than HO as most continentals usually are. Talking of Atlas I also got yet another Stobart lorry, the refridgerated trailer version which I picked up in a bid for about £6 plus post, I think I've flogged the Stobart theme to death now. I'm busy running off two DVDs which I'd copied footage from cine for, there will be two hours, a bit of a labour of love as the bus content wasn't that plentiful but when you promise its always a chance that the goods won't be as bright as you imagined. I've little aptitude towards the old cine these days, such a bitch doing the Japanese films that i gave up on the project and wiped out what I had done, it takes up too much disc memory just sitting there waiting for something to happen, a shame as Alan Mortimers sections are wonderful quality. Good news at work today as I got the latest and last for a while safety training course approved by the ECITB and now I really need to put effort into marketing them, I have also got some ammendments to do on another course which is being revised and updated. I went down to ASDA to pick up the Irish photo prints, I had asked for two of each, there are several thousand prints, much of the later stuff has never been printed before. I've a bit of a glut of photos which I could do with shifting, I'll pop the London and Glasgow games shots of Northern Irish buses in with the batches for Dublin Port Rally, at least we'll have a lot on offer that day all at just 50cent each. Mandy will also have copies of all the PMP DVDs with Irish content, truck or bus ( and tram). Well we've a full plate of things to do so I'll leave you for the minute with some Le Havre truck shots Comments are closed.
