Brilliant Buses are not just creators but enthusiasts passionate about their hobby and achieving superb detail both exterior and interior. 'The Wright Fusion articulated bus was constructed in Northern Ireland by Wrightbus based on the Volvo B10LA chassis. They were built between 1998 until 1999.
It was the articulated version of the Wright Liberator. It was claimed to be the UK's first low floor articulated bus. First Group ordered 40 as part of their 1998-1999 order for 800 buses.
They each cost £175,000 and were destined for Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds although in reality they moved around the group with one even loaned to Bus Eireann which was briefly trialled in Cork. The bus's engine was offset to the near side and the floor was flat throughout the front section and up to the rear axle in the rear, they had full air suspension. In 2001 four were sent to Greenford First London garage for trial on Route 207.
None of the 40 units constructed survives into preservation so the models are a reminder of a relatively rare creature, a British Artic and remains that popular with enthusiasts that this became one of the first models requested. This is a bold venture which addresses the lack of model vehicles being manufactured for the UK market. Current production schedules at the factory mean that the process won't start until 2025.

No payment is required at this stage, invoices will be sent out from the manufacturer. Price to UK is likely to be £96 plus secure delivery. Post from China has proved more efficient than within the UK. Please pre-order early, it will enable Brilliant Buses to assess demand for a sufficient production run size. Models are expected to be complete and ready to send out later in 2025.
