A bit of a run of the mill day, the weather wasn't that great, blustery, sunshine and showers. I got all the DVD orders ready for Mandy to send off and then after the rush hour I set off up to Oldham. The sunshine wasn't that obvious but the wind was, I'll have to start packing my hat on trips out. After filming at the bus station I tried around other spots to add variety but found that the area around the old bus station is being redeveloped yet again and the modern sports centre where I normally park has vanished into a pile of rubble and no houses just a car park. At first I thought that they had decided to pull all Oldham down and start again, it wouldn't be a bad idea would it. Ethnic central of course and it doesn't get any better and needless to say many don't do themselves any favours, Vivre La France on dress codes! Then I went to Bury which is another satellite town around Manchester, it's a good job we didn't want to go to the ciy today they were having the Olympic winners parade through Manchester late afternoon but it made the drive back home easy, the roads were very quiet. The new bus station layout could have been a tad more helpful to photographers, don't they consider anyone when they plan these things, I'm sure there is a legal obligation to consider all users. There is an open aspect on the ring road side but either side of the exit road blanks off part of the turning point. Anyway i did a lot there and then the sun had shifted a little although still end on and I did what I could outside Wetherspoons which seemed to be getting a facelift. I know lots of you were in Bury at the railway this past weekend, big steam event I gather, give me electrics any day! I got done eventually and I'm about to type Mandy's committee meeting minutes for the polio fellowship as their sec is very poorly. Tomorrow an early start and piockets bulging with cash as I head to Phil's home cinema emporium annex, ie his garage over in Cleethorpes looking for 16mm cine gems. Photos from Oldham first.
