The Wondershare software with New Blue effects on board isn't the most stable environment to be playing with, IA is OK in many ways but it took several hours with no support forthcoming to get the plug in working properly. I've got as far now in repainting panels which will need tracking which is a poor pun but I'm recolouring trams! I probably picked a really hard clip to play with. But now I'm getting the hang of it I assume you change a little at a time and apply coats of colour to get it up to the correct colour. Amazing isn't it and certainly the process that gets it coloured in the first place would be really splendid if it got the colours right but the cine is over 100 years old to be fair. So onwards and upwards and the pick of titles and intros etc is mammoth now. I must avoid getting too wrapped up in all that mu larky or I'll never get anything finished. I've the three films from Muckly corner to edit. Talking of which here is a slide show based on yesterdays visit. Nice to see the snow and ice gone, just rain now. I am still uploading still images to send to The Transport Archive site where you can purchase prints. This is taking 24 hours a day working so a mammoth task. I'm also editing the latest round of truck films to get loaded on the shop and trailers to Youtube plus get covers made. Very pleasant weather at Immingham, no wind which worked well for me, I was very well wrapped up and eventually the sun had a little warmth in it. Got up early to miss the M62 queues there was a multi car pile up Manchester bound with some evil looking queues. Anyway other than that it was clear roads, no ice and the temp mostly around 3 deg. So here are some views from today. I'm still uploading files for the Transport Archive. This is the second week using free trials from various platforms, not many offer a TB. Also need to get my head around the colour change to an object on Wondershare. Mandy had been to M&S at Handforth Dean, looks like they are ripping out all the loathed McDonald type equipment. After many decades editing in Edius it is a shock to the system to find yourself editing in a very modern application with all sort of wingbats and dingdongs. Apologies for anyone who hates snazzy titles but you can't blame me for playing with my new toys. At least it will look what people expect Youtube. Perhaps you think it is spot on, I hope you'll bear with me. So elephants learning new tricks it is. The next thing I need to learn is about changing the colour of an object in a film. This is one of the two main things I hoped to gain. I'll leave that to tomorrow or maybe Thursday. I need to check the weather. Most of our snow has now gone, I salted the paths so it will be hard for the odd flurry to settle. Meanwhile here are some more lorries at Goole yesterday. Bitter cold day but not a cloud in the sky, had all my kit including electric gloves and socks, it still felt numbingly cold. I got two hours of film which I'll edit tomorrow. The uploading for the transport archive is ongoing. I've just finished the last of the cine files I have at home to scan so a break from that for a while and will resume Phil Tatt's collection in the spring when I'll also pick up another cine collection which has real sound. Meantime I'll probably try and get a lot of Johns later works on to DVD and download as the quality is good and it has never been shown before as far as I know, it all seemed so modern and John certainly bashed on with S8 into the video age until it was just impossible to get it developed. I'm aslso still loading my still photo files ready for them to go on the Transport Archive, we've been lucky in finding a format platform which has a TB free transfer in 7 days. The largest batched will be the lorries. I'm will into the last quarter of the bus views. Lets have a look at something in the lorry box then for tonight's film show. These are from our very enjoyable and safe Colombian trip Here are our latest DVD releases. I'm still loading the images for the Transport Archive and working on the Amsterdam archive features. I've also got to save and edit the recent scans from John Bishops scans A pleasant trip out to Shrewsbury for lunch and a catch up with Peter Waller Sec of OTA. As usual some good real ale to accompany the meal. I'm still spending 24 a day uploading to a platform for downloading to the Transport Archive which has gained several; collections and top ups recently, well worth a look if you collect bus, tram, trolley, train photos with lorries being added including the PMP shots. While all that is going on I've ambushed the drive feeding the uploads so fingers crossed it doesn't all go up the creek. By the way we won the battle with BT and had our new front door courtesy St Helens Glass. Photos from Italy where we might end up this coming spring. Oops Italy has vanished, all my Italian photos have gone, hopefully gone under another folder meanwhile somewhere we may not get to Russia! We were in Ellesmere port, managed to combine lots of jobs to one trip. Haircut, shirt for sleeve shortening, banking, haircut, shopping and polio fellowship meeting. Got back to message from BT on phone and email. I'm still uploading still shots for the Transport Archive site where you will soon be able to purchase photos from the 400,000 shots I've got digitised. Alas many earlier pictures went to Witton Fleet Books in Manchester and later to Tony Blackman in Halifax. Digital images were a life time of imagination way back then. Anyway very quickly some more pictures from Leeds. The two DVDs from the Leeds trip and 1 from Birmingham are all on DVD but I haven't had a chance to make the covers yet. |
