A stressful day trying to resolve the problem a few folk had getting items added to the shop. It seems they had gone to pmpvideo.com and not pmpfilms.com , however hopefully both now fully link and will both work. It took hours of chasing people in the USA to get it sorted, finally tapped into a chap who was determined to get it sorted, was I glad I found him. To resolve I had to go to name secure and change site settings under instructions online. I've now completed editing the Southdown Pt2 NBC era film and at last commencing editing on the London trip stating with Victoria Coach station. Then we'll have the other bits and pieces in London, then the Romford running day and finally catching up with the NWVRT members day at Kirkby last Sunday and then I can get back to the London archives. We should of course been at Detling this afternoon setting up, the South East Festival of Transport was cancelled by the show ground management as they were water logged. Such a shame, thankfully we got a refund on the hotel and most of the extra DVD stock will relate to Brooklands as well as Detling. We caught up with some shopping and we had a trip down to our local last night, our first after it re-opened a couple of weeks back. I think it will develop into a very different sort of place, the people who run it have several venues around the country mainly North West and London. Lets dip in to the shots I did last weekend and see if I have come up with anything you haven't already seen. I'll be working on the new DVD covers and getting clips on Youtube. I will not be advertising the trick films in magazines after July issue of CVC, we will still be releasing them and an update sheet goes out with orders and of course it is all on the shop. I intend to get most of the classic era material on to Youtube as it will make a greater return than relying on the relatively few truck DVD orders and latest of course are on down load as are those we digitise. Hi everyone, it was a 10 am start at our house and finished about 9.30pm at the Moat House Hotel near Stafford. So a long day, shared a lot of thoughts and experience with the young film crew, both did film, interview etc, I guess that is true most places now . It should be going out in September, we'll let folk know as soon as we learn anything. It seems that as suspected the hotel is the key to the series which features the guests. There was a footballer there I understand but I wouldn't know any from Adam as I hate all sports. Our first night at the local since it re-opened I think it is going to zoom very up market and certainly bring in the footballers wives community. I've got lots of pictures but lost track on where we are up to so a quickie on Staffordshire as that is where we spent the night, next to a canal and the M6. Most of our regular readers will already know we are already engaged for today, catch up tomorrow ( Thursday.
Well the Youtube Google cert and plaque arrived today, lightening speed. Another couple of nails to go in the wall. OUr busy month as we hop off to the opera at RNCM tonight then the film crew coming tomorrow and overnight near Stafford. Then back home and pack for Detling, we'll set up there late Friday afternoon, staying at the usual pub in Detling and hoping I don't get given burnt toast by the manager at breakfast before departure. I've got all the latest DVD releases boxed up for Detling and now I'm going through the list of extra stock for Detling and Brooklands , especially the archive features. I hope to have the London running day ready to launch at Brooklands. I'm back on to Southdown bus editing, the NBC era next.
A breakfast concert at the RNCM this morning as part of the legacy club. We have a performance of Mansfield Park Jonathan Dove's opera, he was at the performance last night. Then I had to be at Holmes Chapel Health Center for 3pm annual health review, need to cut back on sugar yet again and the blood pressure was high so a week of recording that. I've managed to get a couple more boxes of bus photos sorted and got rid of the old plastic bins which hark back to the VHS era. Certainly had our moneys worth out of them. This means that all our boxes DVDs or photos are the same size which helps packing. I've now put two sacks full in the rubbish of old DVDs. We have enough to fill quite a few more lucky dip boxes either bus or truck but they are going to the bin each week and that means they will all be gone in a few months and valuable space released in the outside shed. The film crew are here Wednesday morning at 10am, we are overnight at the Moat House Hotel then straight back on Thursday morning as we head off to Kent early Friday to set up for Detling, yet to book hotel must do that right now. Meanwhile some more shots from the Romford outing other than the preserved buses. I'd still pretty tired but I need to get my act together as we are out at a breakfast 'do' at the RNCM in Manchester tomorrow. Mandy has just got off the boat at Holyhead so thats about an hour and a half away. I'm just trying to get the house warmed up. The members day at the NWVRT was superb, what a bumper mix of vehicles, about 70 plus members attended. It obviously took a lot of organising. A really great feel good factor to the Trust at Kirkby. Haven't got that much tiime to spare but here are some shots from the various buses ridden and displayed. A very quick slide show from the London Bus Museum running day at Romford, all the trains , parking etc went very well, on return leg got stuck with signal failures in Docklands somewhere nearly two hours on a bus to get into London, good job I'd left loads of time, anyway home safe, feet are killing me. Ready for bed as we shed an hour tonight. Greeting friends worldwide, well I have a super busy day most of which I won't bore you with but I've Now edited the 4 latest DVDs with DVD covers also ready. I'll put clips on Youtube then I need to have one last check around and make sure I have everything I need especially the brolly. I'll bring you more shots of Scotland and buses over coming days. Back late Saturday night ready for the members only day at Kirkby. A busy morning ahead of me after being away two day, also need to get Buses mag advert done, I've updated the list to include the Scottish trip which I'm now editing. Some of the still are on my video camera so I'll need to get those downloaded but for today start on a high with shots at Aberdeen yesterday. The Youtube award is now on its way, marks 100,000 subscribers to my channel, thanks for all your support. Lots of archives lined up including several more films on London - just need extra hours in the day and then there will be a new one on Merseyside looking back at some of the other transport including the ferries and the commuter railways circling Liverpool. On Friday I'll be at Victoria coach station plus buses at Victoria railway station then on to Romford, overnight there and looking forward to one of my first London heritage running days in decades. Back home Saturday night ready for the members day at the NWVRT at Kirkby. I'll give some more details tomorrow, we have a pile of DVD orders to get shifted tomorrow morning. All has gone well in my absence, thankfully we have great neighbours. I managed to get these new releases on the PMP shop on Sunday night but didn't have time to put them on the blog. The trip was wet on Monday and sunny today ( Tuesday) areas covered were Falkirk and Stirling Monday and Dundee and Aberdeen today. It was a challenge working in the rain yesterday, gave up trying to get stills at Stirling so took them with the video which can do that at the same time as filming. Bathgate was hopeless, hardly any buses even at rush hours, just wasted valuable time. Hardly two buses the same at Falkirk, lots of ex Dundee Mc Gills even in N express livery. I'll bring your pictures over the forthcoming days, don't forget its members day next Sunday at NWVRT at Kirkby, look forward to catching up and seeing the results of the hard graft that we see each day on the Facebook pages, my great admiration gets even higher, they just flip engines in and out and gear boxes etc, all I do is change a memory chip ( camera not brain that is, actually not even sure about the brain).
