I'm not sure if I'll get anything done by way of filming when I head south tomorrow, time and weather will play their part as of course will the bug that has plagued me these past weeks. So no blog Wednesday night, back home late Thursday and it is pub night so perhaps nothing until Friday. Next week I shall be down for the London running day and before then St Helens with plenty in between we get spring coverage going with a bang. Meanwhile lucky dip tonight in the furthest realms of photo files. A fair bit of Doncaster by the look of it No time for stories, best over a pint sometime, I'm still trying to finish the IOM film that puts really old film colourised against John Bishops S8 films with a spread of nearly a century between them. As I was feeling better went to pick up shirt which had been at seamstress for a month, get hair cut, called at M&S , did post etc, etc. So with islands on my mind lets head that way for tonights slide show. Remember coming soon PMP Photo DVDs. Trying to get myself right as I have a lot of things on this week but the bug is winning at the moment, two nights with hardly any sleep. I've got all the things done for orders and here are some more pictures from Senegal. I've now booked everything but flights for the Belgium trip in May, I need to put some more work into the June Greek trip. I've just made arrangements to pick up some Super Single sound film from Croydon which will see me down south for a couple of days, fingers crossed that I can get some filming done. Meanwhile another selection of shots from Senegal. I've not been that well for the last couple of days, strange as it is similar to something I got before the Senegal trip, no bother in Africa, then back home it has kicked off again. The water in Cheshire is a chemical cocktail so either filter or use bottled to drink. I've got the four clips of Singapore films as trailers on Youtube and list as DVDs. Lets plunge straight in and look at the pictures I took in Dakar We had a splendid nights sleep and although not quite firing on 100% yet we are getting on top of the jobs. A diversion to the family history and today I was in contact with one of my relations who was born into the O'Driscoll side of my grandmother, although now living in London she was born into a travelling family. We knew there was this side to the family way back but an amazing and enthralling encounter none the less. We can have a look at a few more pictures which cover the Senegal trip. As you can all imagine we have quite a lot of work to do at present but I've downloaded all the Senegal film and will be bringing you a variety of photos over the coming days. We only got back to the Gatwick hotel at 02.50 this morning so still a bit zonked, can't get used to the cold and darkness. To keep you waiting wouldn't be fair so just a few samples which represent the trip. I will bring you shots of most forms of transport from Sept Place to minibuses and full size buses plus taxi and really any car which wants to stop and pick up passengers. The Sept Places estate cars were in worst condition this minibus would compare very highly but really crowded when leaving town. I've used spare time today to push back the number of films with digital downloads available on our PMP shop. Really on the wind down tonight. I've done some more location examination on google earth, no idea of what is around in Senegal as very little on the net, Youtube etc. Anyway a last selection for a couple of weeks takes us to other sunny climes in Australia We are more or less ready for the trip to Senegal, we pick up our friend Sue near Cannock and head down to Gatwick on Sunday, overnight there ready to fly early Monday morning. We managed to get all DVD orders away, I'm going to try again with getting all the most recent programmes on the shop as digital downloads, any problems are with the shop which is Weebly like my whole website, they have limited ability to receive data, I can compare now with Youtube which takes about a tenth of the time pre full fibre internet business plan. I'll crack on with that now. I've also be gathering material to compliment John Bishops cine trips to IOM and Blackpool. I am some 1924 IOM coloured material and a hundred years later I'm mixing it with John's films of the late 1980's to early 90's covering a good proportion of the life span of cine as media. In contrast lets have a quiet night in Blackpool for the slide show. Well there is a connection we'll be by the sea for the next two weeks! |
