Well after the great amount of film taken at Kelsall next comes downloading to file and after that editing. I've already completed the latest three DVDs of buses, I'll get these on the PMP shop in the next few minutes. We are still getting DVD orders on EBay can I repeat this shop is seldom updated and not our preferred method at all. We have already eliminated Amazon. Todays slides show the great departure from Kelsall yesterday afternoon. This reminds me I've got a lot of photos to both file and upload to the Smugmug shop.
Really slow internet tonight and I'm ready for my dinner and some plonk, what a wonderful weekend, two day so different. Saturday the enthusiasts day, Sunday public day. at one point there were 5000 cars in the car park, this is one of the worlds greatest vintage and classic truck events but still badged as a steam rally. Anyway here are more shots, my latest record breaking taken in one shot was over two hours without break this afternoon with the 4 pm departures. But more of that tomorrow. I won't write too much as I'm tired and need my dinner, a neighbour popped round and we had a drink which was nice but really need to chill out with tv or whatever albeit I will as usual be scanning old cine in the background. Mandy says I must retire at 80 so that's just 9 years to go I'm afraid but I think we can make a lot of progress before then. It was mainly sunny at Kelsall which is close to home for us, I managed to get 4 hours of film with the steamers and departures to add tomororw although Sunday could be more tricky by way of weather, we had two showers today. Well here we go on photos, there are thousands. We spent more time waiting for Mandy's car to be picked up and nobody showed, avoid Halo garage at Crewe like the plague, they were the choice of LV insurance, they have now passed us to another outfit this time in Macclesfield. This means it will be late July before it gets any attention. We have booked to attend the MTT Burscough open day with the PMP stand on 31st July 2022, the NWVRT we sponsor will be sending buses there. Perhaps come and hear our tales of Brazil which we will have only just returned from hopefully in one piece. Tonight's blog features photos taken in North Wales yesterday. Greeting everyone, the car repair saga went on a bit but it should be collected tomorrow and hire car arrives then chap to fit hand controls for Mandy. Today Mandy managed to get the Jazz serviced in advance of repairs. As this took us to Ellesmere Port we carried on in my car to film in North Wales, amazing that Mandy's wheelchair easily fitted into the IQ boot with lots of space to spare whereas we struggled in a VW Golf. Anyway tomorrow we'll be waiting for the car collection and I'll try and get the three bus DVDs edited and covers made. The Kelsall weekend weather isn't looking that great but I'll have the brolly with me, its only a short distance from us. I looked up the weather for the Brazil trip , its running at about 30-40 deg at present so t shirt and shorts weather. Not long now, worrying all this Heathrow strike business hope to doesn't spread to Latam. We got a round robin from the Polio Fellowship today who are seizing on the London virus scare to get any publicity we can for the fellowship. Photos from the North Wales trip today, bus services now much reduced, harder than ever getting footage. Getting Mandy's car fixed is turning into a farce, never want Halo near it again, the latest was they all have Covid, then we'll phone you back yesterday and today, they never did, got through about 5pm it was like starting ll over each time, bunch of plonkers. Anyway the car needs a service so its going in tomorrow at Ellesmere Port first thing the collect it after filming North Wales. All orders cleared, DVD stock replenished and DVDs to take to Brazil for my friend Jorges in the case. Car washed. I'll have to check as we were going to film in Yorkshire, it will all be different if weather varies. I'm still waiting for the OTA extension disc to come back from Lytham St Annes. I've started scanning the latest batch from John Bishop. Nice to see BH&D in HD scanned format. Photos from Stratford upon Avon yesterday A hot sunny day just right for catching up on Coventry and Stratford upon Avon, the latter for Diamond after taking after Jonhsons. We got stuck in traffic coming back up M6, stranded lorry in third lane of four, then the real culprit a wagon gone over taking the Stoke entrance northbound too fast, its an horrendous curve but he has caused chaos, I think the stranded lorry was the icing on an unwanted cake! The computer is still eating up the transfer to back up of the first drive full of scanned cine, I still haven't got the OTA copy of more recent scans back but I'm sure I'll need to re scan several which were on one the the extension drives which got zapped. I've partly solved one mystery or at least identified it, the new computer with 13 usb ports only has a few which take over 38GB, all very strange. Anyway here are some shots at Coventry this morning. Does anyone actually read these blogs and enjoy looking at the photos I post, perhaps it is a task I could cut out as I'm so short of time. I should have these on the shop this evening. Tomorrow we hope to visit Coventry and Stratford upon Avon for Diamond takeover of Johnsons. I'm copying our first drive of scanned cine on to second back up as the other failed, picked up a Seagate from Argos. I thought today that rather than a liturgy of woes from the failed extension drives I would cut quickly to the material I filmed last week and feature Eastbourne the town I grew up in. I had written the intercession prayers for church this morning which seemed to find favour with the congregation at least. We had a lovely lad priest from not too far away cover for the communion services, our thoughts now are on the village fete, we have to tent being used and I will be MC of the event. I need to order the NAS drive assembly from Chillblast, they should be able to configure it to the computer they supplied. This will give back ups in the event of disc failure although I still need to copy what I have to NAS when I get it and this only really provides a short term solution and long term perhaps DVD discs are a good idea albeit limited in the amount of storage they provide. Anyway lots of jobs, Mandy's car to get repaired, services etc. Meanwhile Eastbourne last week. |
