Still catching up, hope that I'll have these on the shop as DVDs and as downloads before we leave on Sunday. Last orders to go will be anything received by Friday.
Weather good for filming, dry, light cloud, light wind. I started at Worcester got 7 different operators there then to Dudley where of course the bus station closure was the impetus. Lots of work going on piles of rails in half the original car park. Not difficult to locate the rerouted buses, a one way system with two way traffic, I wonder if they have a book open on how many accidents they can cause, pathetic. Two grumpy Nat Express inspectors, made Blakey look cheerful. Otherwise super great drivers at Worcester and Dudley. Start with photos at Dudley. Now editing the last 6 DVDs I've filmed. Still full of being busy, weather lousy now. We enjoyed a splendid day at the RNCM International Festival of Brass , they are now running from the college, a superb launch. I've just finished editing the second of the Amsterdam tram films, need to get clips on both PMP and OTA Youtube sites. It took up way too much time. I need to pick something more complete to do the next archive and have an ideal candidate from recent scans of John Bishops later cine films. Hoping to get out with the camera tomorrow, fingers crossed, sorted out new garage for the car servicing. Lucky dip for photos, lets go south, we look back at trips to Devon and Cornwall. Another day of light cloud on a weekend before the rally season, fingers crossed the weather will be a lot kinder this year. Early events we shall be at include Detling and Brooklands. We shall be in Ghent for tram 150th! While there we shall cover all the tram systems plus the new lines in Luxenbourg. Meanwhile another selection from Middlewich lorries filmed Friday. Four current films await editing, oh dear a queue! I really need to get something better off the ground for the near half million images I have. The transfer to the Transport Archive doesn't seem to be going very well but the Smugmug site produced minimal sales and cost more than the revenue to sustain with monthly fees. I thought that maybe those who prefer still shots might be interested and I can also put trailers on Youtube. Might be worth a try, any observations from readers on this. I will also ask our shop host if it is possible to sell digital downloads of photos, well I know I can do this but loading in bulk is the problem. Meanwhile here are some pictures I took at Middlewich yesterday. We were filming at Stoke On Trent Hanley bus station yesterday, today trucks at Middlewich, near home but plenty of lorry action, some nice rigs around here. I covered buses in Stoke first thing then moved to Stockport as progress continues on the new bus station, the remainder of Mersey Square is also blocked off, see photos. I guess it is a maximum disruption from now until it opens, maybe timed next January for launch of Stockport bee network. Anyway here are some shots of buses in service at the temporary arrangement! The spring trip with friend Martin to Baltics has morphed into a trip stating with Ghent tramway 150 and then rest of Belgium trams and even Liege where the famous tunnel is now empty but I've never been there and its en route to Luxembourg where we shall their new trams. The winter Bangladesh trip has been brought forward a week to avoid getting caught in Christmas air traffic coming home. I've been getting more digital downloads in place on the PMP shop. Many of these are already live, access worldwide no waiting for post. tomorrow pre beeline coverage of Oldham and maybe Ashton or Stockport. A lot of buses are in the Beeline livery and a big shake up must be coming to get them in the right depots. They still haven't really got all round one sorted yet. For the slide show this evening lets go back to Belgium. A bit of an epic in itself getting the Amsterdam film made, possibly the hardest I've worked on for quite a while. I'll see if ramping up the fps does much to help as it certainly attracts viewers on Youtube. Obviously need a cover to go with it and there are still three films I shot at Muckley Corner last Friday to edit. Lets go somewhere not too busy for tonights slideshow! |
