We filmed today buses in Derby, mostly at the bus station but also in the town to capture the services which don't use the bus station especially the Notts & Derby fleet which is the sort of low cost version of Trent Barton who as part of the Wellglade group also operate Kinchbus and High Peak. Thankfully there were no would be boxers among the drivers , I'll never forget when a Trent Barton woman stopped her bus walked over the road to the roundabout outside the town hall, climbed up came over and threw a punch which hit my shoulder. Strange days that anybody would feel entitled to do that, I received no follow up from the company after having reported the incident at the bus station. Thus my opinion of Wellglade is another tatty outfit which emerged from deregulation, lumping tatty people and tatty buses with preciously sound operations drags everything down to the lowest level. So it worked out well, the car park was open this year and the city deserted it was as if the town had been wasted by a nuclear accident or another more virulent pandemic.

Nice, I was in Derby yesterday as well. Just saying if you ever back to Nottingham, I will say wait until after 20th as the single decker brown and purples are being upgraded to double deckers. So you might get plenty of Omnidekkas before they retire later this year. Comments are closed.
