Getting moving image files backed up cab be a very lengthy process , I'm trying to get two extension drives cleared so I can take the OTA copy down to Shrewsbury with me when I visit Peter Waller on Thursday. The weather seems to have put pay to filming this week, the chap from St Helens glass came to measure up for the new front door when I was on the phone for nearly two hours trying to sort a problem with Microsoft. You have to go through several people at the call centres until you strike gold with someone who actually wants to help you resolved a problem, it turned out to be a phantom email the computer builders put in at manufacture which for some reason it picked up on and then charges me for 365 access to Office suite which I already have.
Then later today a marathon for Mandy as she went through the same process trying to link up the new fibre connection to our Tyll terminal. Again it was after several tries that they believed me that they were asking for the wrong code number but they never listen, Mandy finally got there and we are up and running on cards over phone or mail order as opposed to Online. The weather continues to be foul, no days look that good but I've still got hopes to get the remainder of the 2023 programme covered. I'm running some old b&W film through the colourising process, I have a few that look good to use in future films, this one is on Birmingham and has nice early post war street scenes in it. I'm also digitising another of my Mini Dv films, this time Hong Kong 2007 which will go on Youtube and as a resource on the shop as a download. Hopefully I'll get more on this week which makes up for the lack of trips filming. Our friend Colin in Barking has I hope persuaded some of the London enthusiasts to consider sharing their material with the OTA via ourselves, scanning a copy for the donors. Comments are closed.
