I really need to find a reliable source of weather forcasting, the BBC is a dead loss, today after checking both TV and internet it promised cloud cover across the Midlands so I headed off this morrning to Stafford, bright sunshine so I carried on to Tamworth my second destination. Tamworth actually has two seperate bus stations or sets of stops. The one next to the minuicpal buildings has not one mention of other stops at any shelter and I only discovered this after packing my kit away to seek some breakfast and fiound a sign pointing to a bus stop the same type of sign that guided me to the first set. Well they aren't much good at planning things for travellers biut perhaps nobody ever comes here by bus unless they live there. The main operator is Arriva, friendly drivers all the way I must add. There was a onme off independent doing some shuttle service in plain white other than that it's the occasional Stagecoach and Central. The sun was really annotying but finally clouded over very late morning when everything became possible. Assuming that the now cloudy sky extended across the region I headed off to Lichfield which was... yes you've guessed sunny. It did cloud over, the bus station near the railway station is badly placed for photography but it was better once the sun had gone in and added another rarity to our coverage. Thence to Stafford, yes I suppose you'll have guessed, sunny! It again cliouyded over in the middle of the afternoon but by then knowing the M6 was likley to be at a standstill I made tracks home. I have got footage filmed in the snow last spring at Leek so I can add that, I might have enough for a programme. I did get stuck a bit on the M6 motorway , lane shut for a breakdown, roadworks, rush hour etc. I'm running off more 16mm film, some of the stuff is rubbish, a Swiss transport film turned out to be a Norwegian skiing holiday promo. Other are possibly caroons which don't even play, you win a few etc. Sue is coming up tomorrow, I need to get the van sorted with last minute stock for Boyle St, museum at Manchester where we'll be Sat and Sunday this weekend at the Christmas Cracker event.
