Yes we are back, wi- fi absent on Scottish stay thus we had hoped to have written up the blog on Sunday but once more the fuel injector on the Volkswagon Caddy decided to pack up, this time just as we were about to start down the motorway over the Kincardine bridge and we had to get a patrol to guard us from traffic then the wagon lifted us to the services near Hamilton, then another leg down to Forton services near Lancaster, then a long wait and a leg home which once again saw us getting to bed in the early hours which wasn't exactly what I'd imagined happening when we got away from Lathalmond smartish so I'd be fresh for work as I had the training board auditor in this morning. Thankfully all was A! and he was away by lunch time, I did the bits that i needed to and then took it easy as I was running out of steam, running on empty as they say. The day for Mandy was one all day on the phone about the van, anyway in the end its gone to a van specialist at the Stockport branch as we just couldn't risk breraking down again, its been twice in four weeks and its only done 21K which for a van is barely run in. Theally quite lucky as I never got wet having gone to Dundee on the Saturday morning and then to Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy in Fife in the afternoon, lots of changes in the Stagecoach fleet in Fife and thankfully again in Dundee the usual traffic flow exists despite all the road works still ongoing , that must be three years now, certainly seems like someone is spinning the job out a bit. The van didn't go off on the low loader until tea time, we are going to try and catch up with the soaps if we can, I'm downloading the weekends films, I've topped up the birdfeeders, the DVD orders are up to date. I've done the adverts for the magazines. We had another couple of helpful replies on the Japanese tram archives, I'll keep the project rolling along still another 2.5 hours to upload for identification. I was restrained on my model purchases at the weekend, must unpack the LT cub which looks nice, we were gone from Lathalmond when Graeme Fraiser came around to say hello, he was much missed at the event which was more harshly laid out to squash us in a small area, actually we didn't even get what we had paid for and access with the wind blowing was difficult. There seemed to be a lot of fuss about parking when there was oodles of space. The numbers attending seemed to have dropped, there seemed to be lots of spaces where buses are normally placed and also the number of lorries had plummeted to a handful. Despite these factors it was a fairly sucessfull weekend although nothing to match Bridgeton which is now our premier Scottish event. The tales from photographers at the wretched Glasgow games still emerge, I'm not sure what got into the police but it certainly wouldn't bode well if the English police were to behave in such a way without any apparent censure. Anyway enough of all that job to do, dinner to eat, Mandy had to dash to Booths as the cupboard was bare. Photos from Dundee Comments are closed.
