Sound issue resolved and great new speakers thanks to a new IT contact we got through the Lower Peover Parish magazine, he tells us that for £40 half page 12 issues a year he gets more business than through Yellow Pages which costs £50 a month. So it took quite a while to fix, I was on the right track, it just needed the link to the driver reinstalling, who knows why these things actually go wrong in the first place! We had a few errands to get done after lunch although the DVD orders were ready much earlier and away by 10.30. We just got chatting to the IT chap he works as a technician for Seiko who do sports measuring devices which he sets up at events all over the world. I was glad the incident had prompted me to try new speakers the old ones gave terrible sound on the radio and Youtube. Then we went to get shopping including the Dunham Massey brewery for presents and a few more bottles for home, they had at least 4 different ales from my last visit just a few weeks back, he was trying to stick labels on bottles which were selling as fast as he could stick them on, wish DVDs were as good at selling as that. Then on to Waitrose near Altrincham and called in at the bank in Knutsford to pay bills and then dropped off messages at St Osawald's treasuer's house in Plumley. Finally back home to get stuck into the tag end of the 16mm films which I've been copying, there was one fresh one arrived in the post which I slotted in, rubbish reel, the chap described it as good but had damp damage and was stuck together throughout, great description but I've bined it to stop him selling it on to another collector. Then there were the odds and sods, back o front, upside down, lots of old film hit the bin this afternoon. I've some stock car racing film, late on taken 1986 but not on reels, if I struggle with the first they will both go in the bin I've wasted too much time today already. I did get a few more photos filed away yesterday. It gets really busy this week, a walk on Wednesday morning then Xmas lunch at the Pheasant in Plumley then Thursday the RNCM opera in Manchester, Sue is joining us and we'll eat at Brodsky's on site as usual about 5pm, gives a good couple of hours to spend over dinner. Not so many orders through yet , snail mail all but dried up mostly stuff comes through in the evening via one of our three shops, EBay, Amazon and our own site which you are on now unless you linked by Facebook ( it just gets everything via button, no idea how it works or how to set up a message!). Photos from my favourite destinations over these quieter days, only possible film days Friday and Saturday, weather outlook not great though. Starts with Myanmar ( Burma). Comments are closed.
