The trip went quite well, really well in nearly all instances but the attack by the Stagecoach driver at Exeter is only the latest in a sorry story which goes back decades. I know they have a good track record in acting on these cases of gross misconduct but the fact that is still occurs widely shows that no long term training or induction input has ever been implemented. Rather than go to the police or solicitors I think that the traffic commissioners are perhaps a possible solution where they can consider if a company is fit and proper to run a public bus service. I receive terrible stories constantly and usually it is the weakest who are most a risk, myself 70 years old cannot stand up to assault by Stagecoach staff, my many viewers and youngsters, some with intellectual issues are often the victims. This smells and tastes and looks like bullying, it is bullying and should cease! All the good stuff is next! Met a lot of our viewers many for the first time on this trip, always a pleasure. All objectives were achieved and in glorious sunny weather. Interesting today seeing the buses 'helping' out in Bournemouth. Various parts of Go Ahead have supplied vehicles and many of the Yellow Bus drives have started with More, although I guess the pensions issue as it is not a TUPE will be a fall back on the governments scheme which offers a degree of protection when companies fail. As time is marching by here are some photos from Bournemouth this morning. Comments are closed.
