Shots from this morning at Goole by the distribution centres.
It was the usual horrific crawl over the M62 this morning then after a good session with the camera the challenge to get home was the complete closure of the M62 not far away. Obviously all the others routes were clogged but the Woodhead Pass was not bad, usual pinch points then getting near home there was a blasted cyclist who rode the whole length of Plumley Moor road in the middle blocking everyone from overtaking for three miles, it is really selfish these cyclists they ride through red lights , go on the pavements etc and now to go past you need 5 ft which they can easily block, it's like they just want to torture motorists. Lower Peover is awash with them, what is worst is the lycra! Shots from this morning at Goole by the distribution centres. Today I filmed trucks at Penrith and tomorrow I'll be at Goole. Photos from Penrith this morning, some bloke left his broken down Audi on the roundabout then scarpered off, all very strange and annying A long day but as we came out of Palm Sunday at church the sun was across the sky, the daffs all in flower and this years lambs in the field. Tomorrow ( Monday) I hope to be out filming lorries under a clear blue sky. All the current round of films are now edited and on disc and will be as downloads before not too long. Next archive planned will be London and East Midlands.
Today should have been Detling South East Bus Festival, alas the constant March rain prevented it but we look forward to meeting lots of our friends and followers at Brooklands in two weeks time. If the weather is good we have two spare days to cover buses in that area. This week I hope to get some lorries filmed on Monday then see how the rest of the weeks pans out. I'll mention the truck DVD situation a few times before July so everyone knows what is happening. As of July edition of Classic and Vintage Commercials magazine we shall cease advertising. Without any notice they just stopped sending us the advertisers copy and just repeated the same advert saying it is all electronic now. I look upon it as over £100 month wasted, we will carry on as usual with production of lorry films, they will be on the list, on the shop, downloads as well as DVDs, clips on Youtube just no advert. We put a range update in each mail order so that should cover the non IT folk. I do hope to put all the pre 2000 truck films on digital and on Youtube, lorries garner us a much larger proportion of Youtube revenue than buses, trams or trolleybuses. I'll alter Youtube but to car and vehicles as putting them under travel has gained nothing and possibly restricted growth. |
