with the clouds now covering Cheshire the heat is sealed in for the evening at near 30 but during the afternoon it was sizzling just a few degrees below the UK records set down in London for July temperatures. I did manage to crack on with the training records this morning at work but really the pains in my knee and leg in the heat were unbearable trying to perform such exacting tasks so I called it a day after lunch and the headed back calling in at Lymm Poplar services on the way where traffic was having a post lunch time bonanza as the country was almost coming to a boiling full stop with rails buckling and roads melting in the heat. I must admit that the smell of new mowed grass in the heat bought back lots of memories of summer childhood days just the sizzle and popping of the steam roller and wet tarmac missing. There were so many super drivers that I lost count and the increase in attractive liveries seems to know no end as more and more operators pick up on the trend, I even saw a sort of all over advert livery on a Polish lorry today, I think the Irish lads could do a bit of catching up they aren't usually so reticent about self promotion, must be the cost, longer pockets than the Scots eh. Then I went down the M6 as the temperature hovered on 33 to my usual spot at the southern end of the A55 D road, there was plenty going on and although it can be a frustrating location it is near Stobarts and there are companies that you don't see even in Cheshire so if I don't get around a bit I miss lots of stuff which won't be a problem when I'm retired. There are moves afoot at work and a rumbling of facts and figures being digested but I'm not sure what will transpire, not do I really care as I phoned pensions to get my pension settlement figure sorted. Of course this evenings photos are lorries and remember it was all in the sizzling heat even when it looks cloudy. Comments are closed.
