It was my day for truck filming so I decided to have a day on the road to Sheffield known as the Woodhead Pass which takes drivers along the side of reservoirs/lakes and through beautiful national park scenery but at the cost of crawling through the suburbs which can take hours to go the last mile or so. I took advantage of the very dry conditions and managed to get a film position where I'd failed previously as it was too boggy. First thing though I was at the clinic to have the dressing changed on my toe, all seems to be going well and no pain at all. I did put my walking shoes on for the hills but other times I'm using my sandals to keep the foot aired. Final check up is in early July. It's crazy that you have to pay out for all this as its not on the NHS. I also tried the reservoir road crossing nearby and got some shots near the road to Holmfirth but really it wasn't as good as I had hoped for, either too far away or too close to the action, I know you can never win. I did get some more of the cine film copied, I need to get it on disc for John bishop, I also found a rather nice 8mm reel on Eastbourne which I'll pass to John, the trams, the model village, even the grotto briefly never seen cine of that before and Alchornes boats, the pier speedboat etc. We are getting ready for the Taunton running day the weather looking a bit chancy, not going to book Sunday night in Devon until I know how its going to turn out on Monday no point wasting the money. We have the Polio Fellowship 10th anniversary meal tomorrow lunch time and then St Oswalds fund raising meeting in the evening. The roof is on the new toilet at St Oswalds but scaffold hasn't been stripped and the doors and windows haven't materialised as yet. Photos from yesterday afternoon at Dudley and Stourbridge.
