Up at 5.15 this morning as I had a full day of work in the North East, I had a break at Penrith but it was still almost dark and after a manic rush hour at the roundabout off the A66 it all went pretty quiet which is what I found last time I went through some months back, it was just dead compared with previous visits but that and the slip road off the M6 are now the only options as the road has either been doubled or the carriageway improved so the trucks are really thundering along. I then tried Stockton as I had a little time to kill before making a tour of the tech college but the sun at such a low height wasn't up to much although they have redone the bus stops and it almost looks like a bus station, at least they don't have to battle through with other traffic, seems like an eternity since i used to work there and call in at the butty shop at lunch times, it was a very hectic bus scene in those days. Bumped in to one local enthusiast, Stagecoach and Arriva have large numbers of new buses in the area, I'll be catching up in the spring. I didn't get out of the apprentice interviews until 5.30 then phone calls to catch up on and the long drive home in the dark, the A1 is roadworks but so is M60 everywhere is roadworks at present but I did it under 2.5 hours which wasn't bad. Dieting day so fruit for tea, at least it can't go cold! Lots of orders on the phone but zero on the net, strange how the days vary! I did get the picture side of the West Yorkshire cine archive DVD finished last night, ready to start of the sound, the next project will be the West Midlands video archives
