I'll give you a taste of Cardiff in the slide show from yesterday afternoon but I also made a swift visit early lunchtime onwards up to Preston where the bus station is starting to look very pleasant and regaining the look it had when first opened. At present the car park has almost been refurbished although there is a lack of signage goodness knows what would happen if there was a fire like at Liverpool and people were trying to escape, I used the car ramps until I found a trace of the stairs and lift. The roads system around the perimeter isn't much better, they've gone on the basis of giving vehicles priority, right is might or vice versa. There are people walking all around it, down by the town hall a car came by at 40mph in the wrong direction but I couldn't see anything which would alert them and the road markings are all gone a few odd checker plate style new markings but nothing to say what they mean. An accident waiting to happen but every bus driver Poles included perhaps waved, smiled, thimbs up or even stopped for photos and a passing police car the smiled and waved, well done Preston although I did have a moron who was going to housing benefit in the town hall who crept up behind me and shouted to frighten me, anybody with a dodgy ticker could have had a heart attack. Most of the buses look a bit shabby although I suppose the weather hasn't been brilliant, another old Wessex bus running around with Preston stickers. I called at St Oswalds on my way back to check on bolier repair progress, needs new parts so that's another day or more. I'm with Mandy at Leighton Hospital early tomorrow, pre-op for the next attempt at her tear duct repair, no sign of an actual date though for operation. We'll go and have a look at the re-opened Smoke pub and sniff it out, if it looks passable we may try dinner there tomorrow night. I'll get the three outstanding DVDs edited and on the shop, if the weather suits it will be trucks next week, we are expecting a cold snap but sometimes that comes with sunshine and the days are longer, the sun higher so more is possible.
