quiet day in more ways than one, a bit of shuffling around saw us end up with a new neighbouring stall behind us who must have set up later yesterday evening. When they arrived they were very nasty and had taken exception to our stand which has been in the same place there for at least twenty years. They seemed to settle down but it was strange having nobody on the adjacent stall to chat to Graham Lunn being next door but one and Ralph Garnett across the divide with the roar of the space heater. Anyway there are lots of friendly people these as ever and it takes more than one pair of idiots to rock the boat. After the mighty success of the Big Orange event it was a bit of a let down but of course many regulars had already purchased there not so long ago and you will never get it all twice over in weeks but some of our regulars weren't there today and although Sunday is traditionally the quieter day it may surprise us yet this year - fingers crossed. A few hints of special events for 2017 and as stated previously we want to ring the changes a bit, I know there will be something to mark 50 years of Ulsterbus but probably not by the company themselves. Then in Exeter the end of the old bus station which has had a couple of come backs already but as they say the end is nye. The weather was mild for December and dry, tonight we are off out to the Pheasant at Plumley , the St Oswalds choir are carol singing there, I've promised not to sing. It will be interesting to see what they've done to the place. So it's a quick tea and out again. We'll have a few cine films to pack up before Monday to send out and there are a few DVD orders but little in the snail mail, it's really all internet now especially on our own shop now we can take any sort of card right through to Diners and American Express. Not a lot of bus activity on the Saturday at the museum other than the station shuttle but hoping to see more visiting buses outside tomorrow. The Big Orange DVDs were still selling today, I might need to do more archive features perhaps picking up the old Bus Spot range and putting on wide screen and bringing them up to date. |
