welcome to this late evening blog brought to you from the premier inn at Herne bay no less. we were up quite sharp this morning and at the rally site by seven am but were nowhere near the first and were quite near our usual location and it didn't take long to set up as all our stock of DVDs is now posted with care to ensure it unpacks ready to lay out on the stand. there certainly weren't either the numbers of enthusiasts and visitors to the rally cum running day and the queue even in the blazing sun for the open toppers were not as long as in other warm sunny days.last year was discounted as it was a wash out but we only did half the takings of the rally at its zenith. the organisers have been able to hand over nearly two thousand pounds accumulated over the past two rallies. the quality of the buses attending was first date and the age profile was well beyond many similar events. bus numbers seemed to be down a fair bit and I did note that many of our regular photo purchasers were absent but there was a hard core of our DVD regulars who kept the flag flying for pmp. the temperature was up to about twenty eight and in the evening we attempted to find a pub with food but seemingly all pubs shut for food after lunch in Kent. we ended up having fish and chips as the restaurant at the hotel was jsm packed due to close because of a gas leak in the nearby harvester. we did call back to the table table restaurant afterwards and had dessert and a couple of drinks before retiring for the night. tomorrow we are covering Maidstone and Tunbridge wells. well be blogging from home Monday evening.
