Well back to earth with a bang with a chilly day, last night i got back to Manchester about 11pm which was actually well over half an hour earlier than the schedule helped by south easterly winds which blew us back. After a few wines at the peaceful lounge at Malta airport it was easier to bear the pain from my left leg which I'd really overdone that last day and I just couldn't get comfortable. Anyway with frequent dozes the journey was swift although I missed the company I'd had on the way over with the lovely couple from Liverpool. The flight was smooth, Mandy picked me up at departures which is the trick everyone now has to use to avoid getting rooked at arrivals whereas Liverpool now has a parking camera van stationed to put people off dropping without going through their rip off system which imposes a penalty on people dropping or picking up, Ryanair and Liverpool airport deserve each other. There were actually a few English people on the passport desk at Manchester which made a change, Liverpool has well scousers so I don't suppose there is much threat from Estonians etc. Malta airport was easy peasy, Manchester I had to walk far too much on a leg which was ready to give out, even the travelator / moving floor was out of action, now there's a surprise. I've had a look at some of the shots I've taken in Malta and there are a few gems and more than a fair share of ERFs amongst many others, golden oldies are much rarer to come across these days as many really old vehicles are now preserved and seldom seen out. Maltese enthusiasts also import older vehicles from the UK as the local modifications and bush engineering renders a lot beyond hope of being restored to original condition. I'm making a start on tweaking the Maltese transport pictures and these tonight are just as taken which one has to remember is whilst videoing. Talking of which I'm just starting to download the video and I'll put the West Yorkshire bus archive on hold until the weekend whilst I get the trip sorted out. I need to file the october material on the external hard drive as Malta is going to add a lot of memory use. Mandy has done a wizzard job at keeping on top of the DVD orders, I'll put on a very short sale on EBay mid week starting tomorrow and then of course the full range is available on this site post free sent worldwide and then there is also the Smugmug photo sales page which starts from just 50p per print which is only rally prices and you can browse through at your leisure, so far this side of things is just ticking over covering costs, I can't really see why it hasn't done better. On the net the Youtube hits are ever climbing and it won't be long before yet another million hits have been added, remember hit an advert or two each trip which creates revenue to enable our transport expeditions. A little more done to finish off the Bangladesh arrangements and I've had confirmation that my dates for Mexico are viable. These shots were taken yesterday afternoon along with several hundred more, don't worry they are all adjusted for colour and framing before going on sale. Mandy did some super shots when she visited the poppies at the Tower of London some shots from the visit, also the Lord Mayors arrival by boat for a parade and lifting of Tower Bridge.
