It's been quite busy with PMP orders on the net tonight plus quite a few in the post. Mandy had a rough day though with two falls in the office and kitchen but thankfully no injuries to speak of. There have been several orders for our Channel Island archives after Guernsey buses appeared on the local news, one of the masters wouldn't copy though and no amount of cleaning would get it to work so Mandy had to go through all the stock boxes to extract the rally sales copy to remaster , of course we'd loaded everything in the van on Sunday and of course it was nearly in the last box she looked through. The weather has once again been chilly damp and dank although at teatime the sun peeked through the murk, I'm hoping that it may clear up so I can finish my latest Stobart truck film. When the weather is better I'll take some odd days leave and return to the Wakefield distribution centres and then try down at the M1 A14 junctions and south where there seems to be a lot of activity. Another hoped for first will be Southampton docks. We got the price through from our friend Zhang in China for the proposed 2016 trip there, it's a bit on the expensive side but their currency is now much higher against sterling. Anyway I'll have to see what the others think. I've also got a US agent working on our Colombia trip plus I've been looking again at the Ethiopia visit which won't happen until the light rail is open. Our other trip for this year should be to new trams in France but we'll have to see how dates pan out, I may also visit Russia with Martin Rickitt towards the end of summer. Last night I noted comments on Youtube which concerned an interchange between two 'enthusiasts, it had gotten pretty heated and really if people rise to the bait they descend to the level of the other party. If someone has escaped our moderation filter report it as abuse to Youtube or direct to myself and I can delete it , we do everything we can to keep our you tube channel family friendly. t is frightening though to think that there are people in our hobby who support terrorism and who can boast about it. One thing I've seen each time I've looked into someone's accounts as I ban them from the site is that they seem to be in to computer games and rap trap sounds, I've never seen let alone played a game on a computer but judging from comments heard at work it can addle the brains of youngsters who confuse fiction with reality, perhaps this warped perspective is why young kids are going off to seek a death in Syria, one dose of their secret police put me off for life. I've not seen anything more on the UAE plane spotters but have got some letters ready to send out to chief police officials and politicians seeking some protection for transport enthusiasts in our own country. I'm just burning the last of the Finnish DVD masters, it covers Mandy and I on our first visit in 1994, also the brief sequence of shots that Richard Lomas took in 1990. That will conclude all our Scandinavian material being put on to DVD. I might tackle the Manx Electric 100 celebrations as the video camera I'm using for Hi8 seems to cope with the worst of tapes and those masters have suffered more than even Hi8 normally gets, a very volatile media was that, thankfully with a short life span as we went to MiniDv in 1995. Lets have some nostalgic this evening, I'll dip into the family archive and share some memories of our family. Comments are closed.
