Although the day went much better for fitting the new carpet than it did for the lounge and dining room we did still end up with a broken window to replace. We had packed things into the box bedroom and one of these a replacement electric blanket was in its black plastic wrapping and against a window. The sun shining on this was such that it created a very high temperature enough to break the inner layer of triple glazing. After falling out with Northwich glass ( regulars remember cupboard door fiasco in the showroom). There is now an alternative locally and they are measuring up next Tuesday. In the afternoon it was the next session of the Queen's jubilee commemorations locally within Lower Peover and Plumley plus Over Peover. We made some progress and it all seems to be getting some clarity. We shall be meeting monthly in the run up to the long weekend at the beginning of June. I got a publicity blurb from one of our lodges in Brazil, looks like they are ramping up for the tourists coming back to the Pantanal . We are now due to visit in July22. Tomorrow I have my clips/stitches out from the hernia repair operation, I'll be glad to have those clips out they really dig in. Anyway the wound seems to be healed, I'll get to see it for the first time at the hospital If I get time I'll go on to Liverpool docks if it is cloudy and get some truck filming done. Its pub night, the first frost this morning. Lots of jobs lining up, including the dampness around the chimney breast area. I'm scanning the third from last of Dave Forrests excellent cine film with lots of Merseyside content, these are reels I strung together with 50' and oddments of film in a box. I'm also nearing the end of the latest batch of Phil Tatts cine on standard 8 which includes many colliery lines taken on tours in 1971 as well as quite a mix of preserved railways and even a canal. I've managed to file away all the shots in my still camera, eventually these get on to our Smugmug site with nearly half a million other images from my collection. I'm also still working on digitising my earlier Merseyside video in advance of several films planned including Merseybus, Crosville and Ribble. So what can I find in my tin of images for tonight, why Liverpool docks, food and scrap side, the smelly location! Cargill foods bread rats there! Comments are closed.
