I visited Bolton today, a lot more buses than expected. Although the traffic was light heading there it was very busy in the town, lots of folk about perhaps as many as a 'normal' day. I'd say there were about 40% of normal bus services perhaps less but a higher percentage than in Manchester. The weather was difficult for filming with continuous sun then cloud. The drivers were all very friendly , I wore my mask for the visit, many people pay zero heed to the social distancing requirements. I had a couple of nice chats to passers by. All in all a very good visit and albeit with reduced numbers it was great to see Vision the local operator not only staying the distance but now with 20reg buses. If I had left it at this and then gone home it would have ended on a high but I tried at Wigan, very few buses and I got the narky git from GMPTE who I've had crossed before. He should have been sacked years ago, he brings Wigan down so much, he is like a one man mission to give the place a bad name and really it does that ok without him. I might put Wigan on my never again list with the likes of Loughborough. What an amazing experience , Bolton comes out so well and potentially has as many if not more social problems than Wigan, well done Bolton. Comments are closed.
