I got there at last, having compiled the outline as a talk commissioned by the Rotary club but they never got in touch again, last time I do anything for them but I've eventually managed to fill an empty programme at the Polio Fellowship meeting today at Ellesmere Port. It was another cold, dreary dark damp day and as usual on EP meeting day I got my hair cut, topped up on bird foods, went to M&S, got Mandy boot strap fitted at Honda and then bumped into a friend from work days, Dave Fisher - one of the good 'uns - he now volunteers for the RNLI at Holyhead on Ys Mon. We are still trying to establish if we can get anything filmed in the North East tomorrow, a marginal weather forecast at best, we'll check after we've been to the Crown for a weekly drink. I've also got all the VE day material together to get a demo disc done for Roger Turner who is putting the anniversary celebrations together for our villages. I've got todays DVD orders ready but if we leave at 4.30 for the North east they'll go off Saturday morning. The trouble with this time of year the weather changes by the minute. When we got to the Whitby club at Ellesmere Port they'd cancelled our meeting room and were using it as a polling station for the election but we sat in the ballroom for my talk. Our voting place was Plumley village hall in the small back office, door jammed and up a step and very small. Met several people we knew there. I guess if we are up early we'll get the tag end of the election results, we are certainly not waiting up we'll find out soon enough. Tomorrow I start my pre colonoscopy diet, cheese on toast or chicken and mash is about it, no fruit or veg. We'll have another dip in the N East photo archive, if nothing transpires I promise I'll tackle the next Bus Spot Ultra! Comments are closed.
