I think the future of EFE has been in doubt for ages, the lack of new castings and the wish to sell the business is common knowledge and at last the business has gone into administration and no doubt those responsible for sorting it out will be seeking someone to purchase as a going concern. I know there were rumours a couple of years back that Oxford were interested but they are developing their own range quite nicely. I expect that to keep the range going it could be attractive , Oxford would be a favourite because of their lower pricing structure and amazing printing capabilities but then it's all churned out in China whatever the supplier. Some superb resin kits are being produced some supplied as built, the Russians do a lot of this. Nearly every Hong Kong type run now has a model surely these relatively low runs could tackle the myriad UK bus possibilities, it just needs an acceptable price. I'd rather pay the cash for a decent model and not the Base Toys types which are quite crude and sometimes woefully incorrect. No doubt the many vendors of said models are bemoaning the reduced flow of models and the market will probably end up flooded with a end of business 'fire' sale. We are off for the Harvest Supper evening tonight at Plumley village hall. No tickets went from the shop unlike the film show. I wonder if there is a wider market for the film show format as several people have showed an interest. I've sussed out all the required bit for the bingo night and I've sent an article up to the polio fellowship journal on the Goredale visit yesterday, I still can't believe the quantity of cream cakes there were. I've confirmed with the card manufacturers that our Christmas cards are under way, actually the design was that popular that they are reprinting it on Monday so should be done before the end of this month, Rothbury cards changed hands after the death of the previous owner but it still seems to go from strength to strength. I did give my friend Julian Bowden a mention as the person who originally put us on to them and indeed the latest card we've chosen which Mandy saw at Bridgeton. Julian carries a stock with him to the bus events. Today I finished some gardening amidst showers, tomorrow we are going to tend the family graves at Southern cemetery in Manchester, I've left packing the kit in the car until tomorrow, too horrible outside. Mandy was at a committee meeting this afternoon but managed to do shopping at M&S whilst out, new trousers tried on, Mandy will no doubt ensure I'm co-ordinated tonight. Mandy and Felicity will do the door, I'm planning doing the wine drinking and apple pie tasting, perhaps the garlic bread, can't say Lasagne doers much for me, especially unless I know the meat source and composition. I've filed yet more photos. We are about to purchase a disc printing machine so all PMP discs will be pre-printed with a standard format not too heavy on ink and the only hand written item will be the programme number. Hopefully this will help eliminate illegal copying, they don't come cheap though at about £1500. Some pics I filed from my B&W days. Comments are closed.
