It was a day of more high winds but mainly sunny throughout plus the temperature was a little higher than on Saturday. Another prompt start to the day which saw us back down at site at Gaydon about 7.45. We just set up the main stand with our surplus truck DVDs built up when we thought we would be able to sell truck films at events./ These days we know better, they sell well but not at the events which we now attend just to film and enjoy, Mandy prefers sunshine and warmth and if all else fails we have the van handy for her to sit in and we can have our own brews and food at hand. We had just two sales one each day albeit we did actually cover all our costs with those. It's not been that busy on the net today so I've a medium load of DVDs to get sorted in the morning after Mandy has gone off to Ireland, I think we are up at 5am, yes 5.30 over the weekend was like a lay in. Anyway a busy day as I start my travels on Tueday. The weather looks to be set fair and I think i can roll out my programme with Tuesday at Canterbury, Chatham and Maidstone, Wed at Hastings, Eastbourne and Bright although that isn't set in stone, it could be Brighton, Crawley and Guildford. Then I go back home and clear the orders and then Friday I will be on the Isle of Wight, Saturday Portsmouth, Southampton or whatever I can fit in. Apologies if it doesn't work out just like that. The Gaydon weekend saw a good turn out of vehicles despite the brakes going on with invites and promoting the weekend as space was at a premium with over running building works which must be catching as that remains the case with us at St Oswalds, if they go any slower they'll be dismantling the building. Frustrating in the extreme we have a site meeting tomorrow afternoon at which we'll be fed the usual rubbish and excuses, oh but there were a penalty clause in the contract. Anyway I'm not sure what delays at Gaydon are down to, may be as i heard it was the newts. A huge lake looks to be under construction so perhaps there are having speed boats. It's great museum even without special events of which there are many including a bus rally the weekend we go to Lathalmond thus we haven't experienced it and giving loyalty to Lathalmond the museum which retains a relaxed friendly approach to things and we find suits us with our regular digs nearby and I usually get some filming done, if weather permits I'll film trucks on the way up. I'm also planning to fly up to Aberdeen to cover buses and lorries in an extended day. The birds in our garden are marching through the food, deolishing the fat balls, I guess it's the wind which causes that. I met up with my childhood friend Dave Vaughan at Gaydon and together we chatted to folk admiring his 4mm dioramas of industrial scenes including Hall & Co the aggregates company that we both knew at children with the quary on the Crumbles at Eastbourne. Dave recently took his AEC lorry up to the Newark rally which appears to have grown perhaps we'll have a go at that on again next year trying to ring the changes in our coverage around the country. Another film loaded to our Subscription channel on Youtube last night, I think I've got 18 on now, when it hits 30 I'll go live with it. Lets have some shots of that fantastic road run from Volvo UK 50th to Gaydon yesterday afternoon. Comments are closed.
