I had got all the DVD orders done last night and my first job this morning was to go to St Oswalds and get the cobwebs down from the windows which wasn't quite as hard or high as I had imagined, it was one job which we hadn't time for on the big spring clean up. Then we dropped off the post at the village shop and went to Knutsford to the butcher and stocked up on meat for Easter weekend, Mandy thinks she is now getting ready to cook properly again but we still have a good stock of ready meals at hand. The builders were absent once more from the church toilet building site, there was a little drizzle in the air which must have driven them off site. Then it was time to get home and finish cleaning out the bird feeder which had been soaking for days, I put it in the greenhouse to dry. Later in the day everywhere had a good shower and I hate to say it but the flowers and lawns needed it as well as the farmers. Then it was time to get changed and off to Port Sunlight on the Wirral for the memorial service from Graham Cox MBE a friend from the Polio Fellowship, after nursing Graham for quite a while now we hope that Jean will be able to return to the Fellowship meetings and lend her expertise and energy in fund raising. It was a pleasant service amidst the particular picture postcard scenes of spring at the Port afterwards we went to Thornton Manor hotel for the wake which we enjoyed in the company of others from the Polio Fellowship. Sir Bert Massey had a chat with Mandy and gave some forthright views on our local MP, Bert is quite severely disabled and had a notable and much publicised failure at his PIP interview, a decision overturned on appeal. They asked him if he was sure he couldn't walk and replied that the last time he walked Harold Wilson was PM. Some great food at the hotel but they did sandwiches all of which had 'other' ingredients, ie Cheese and onion, ham and tomato, egg mayonnaise why can't people make sandwiches with one thing at a time if you want others bits you can add from the salad. Tonight some shots from our visit to Milton Keynes which reminds me I've now got four DVDs to prepare covers for. An interesting side thought, we had a request from the Andorra National Archive for a copy of a film we had on Youtube, not on DVD yet so we are preparing a copy for them tonight!
