It's a bit late for much of an epistle this evening as we have just got back from the Halle concert at the Bridgewater in Manchester. It's been a while since we attended, the difficulty parking puts Mandy off although the theatre itself is very accessible. A mixed bag this evening although the main course was Elgar which was appropriate as Mark Elder received the Elgar Society gold medal this evening, an award previously limited to overseas proponents of our composer. The Halle orchestra is historically and indeed currently very much involved in his work. It's been a hectic day as ever with the large bundle of cine films of all shapes and sizes posted off to various corners of the world and the usual chaos at the post office getting them weighed etc. Then we went to the Potteries starting at the Wedgewood and Doulton warehouse where we were lucky to find what we were looking for and needless to say our bounds increased and we came away with a very modernistic colourful plate although quite where it will go is another thing. Then we went to Hudson & Middleton who are manufacturers of mugs among much more in their old pottery which has had massive lottery funding to make secure, its a change to find a British company still manufacturing and expanding in this sector. The new show room and outlet center incorporates viewing areas of the factory so I got them listed on trip adviser creating them as an attraction and giving the first review. I managed to get some clips on the Youtube channel for the DVDs I filmed yesterday at West Brom and Dudley and the DVDs edited and ready although i need to do the covers for them. Tomorrow morning I have the doctors to check out the high blood pressure first thing, then we need to do some food shopping after which I'm going to have a crack at another batch of 16mm film copying before I have to pack away the kit on Monday prior to Hil and Sean getting here from Ireland. Sunday is the family christening and then Monday may be, just may be if the weather is ok I might get some filming done. We are down south Friday and Saturday prior to Cobham at Brooklands Sunday. The next week gets involved as we are off to South wales followed by the hectic bank holiday weekend with Llandudno and Truckfest. Pictures from Dudley yesterday. It rained a lot more last night and most of today, starting on an arc if it carries on. Comments are closed.
