We lost a lot of power sockets and lights yesterday evening, the electrician on their out of hours tried to talk us through but it got worse so they diverted a chap from another job this morning and it was the water coming in from the air bricks which has flooded under the floors and knocked out the electrics. Thankfully my make do and mends plus some by the sparks has most rooms and facilities working albeit with a cats cradle of extension leads around the house. Trying to get a pump is like hens teeth, much of nearby Northwich town centre is under water and people were still being rescued this morning. The surrounding country is covered in thousands of acres of water places we have never seen flooded like ourselves are deep in it. The roads, railways etc are deluges bringing trees down and mud slides. Roads which were poor to start with have had the surface washed away. I must admit when we got the telly going last night it was disgusting to hear about nothing but the USA and presidents, only a few minutes then to cover the distressing Corona stats and the widespread floods. The BBC do themselves no good they should reflect on who it is that pays for the service and cover the B bit of their name. Anyway we were able to get the DVD orders done and I need to get another splitter cable to get the scanner and projector workng in the display room, thats easily picked up at any hardware shop. As the weather is going to be sunny tomorrow perhaps everywhere will dry out a little. I'll head to my usual spot on the A50 at Uttoxeter roundabout which is near enough to get to and then after lunch it starts to cloud over so I'll stick it out as long as I'm able. Tomorrow will thus be my first day out with the electric gloves, I'm looking forward to no freezing fingers again. I'll be torchy boy with all my sock and glove batteries. I've just sent of the copy for next advert in Buses mag who seem to be running a month ahead of Kelseys CVC truck mag. Its our weekly pub as was night tonight and as Mandy just said never have we looked forward to a few drinks like today ( ditto last night but we resisted). So as we will be on the good old A50 some shots from that neck of the wood, I'm still transferring scanned files to the external drive. Then I repeat the process for the OTA copy ( Online Transport Archive.) Keeps me out of mischief eh! Shots on other trips to Uttoxeter A50... Glug Glug from Lower Peover Comments are closed.
