Happy New Year to one and all, I fear that things will get worse before they get better. Wearing a mask all the time out and about has proven to be ahead of the game as everyone is now being advised to do so and when you get home have a clean mask ready so its going to be a fresh one each time you leave the house. Today I was getting DVD orders ready albeit they won't go off until Monday. I spent most of the day on the diorama getting the left side around the bus depot sorted and making some concrete fences as per Scenic Model Supplies kit, I couldn't follow the instructions and the photos were too small and unclear so bodged it together with the posts from matches and then the 'wraps' of concrete round them it more or less looks right. IT is nearly two thirds complete, once the weathering and detailing of scenery is done I can populate it with more vehicles. I need to get enough to give cupboard space for the stack of models which have yet to leave their boxes which is essential to give working space. Tomorrow I intend to start work on editing although we do have house cleaning to do as I guess our cleaners will have vanished once again, we only got them back for a couple of visits. I wish I'd grabbed a haircut before the Teir4 restrictions, I'll have to get the beard trimmer on the bits around my ears and fringe plus rear, at least we have already had practice at such things. I made a few phone calls today with New Year greetings to friends and family. My to do list stretches into the horizon so as long as we are healthy we will not be bored, in fact that hasn't happened at all last year. My mental list of DVDs to make keeps extending,I'm also wanting to go through original material used in early video masters and get them digitised and in the digital archive. I did scan a couple of OTA films from the Battam collection today but those blasted plastic stickers as joints instead of cement make them really liable to 'go wrong', rewinding and rescanning is often the result but you can't sit and watch every minute. When I'm editing the HD scanned archive I work down to half a second to remove joins and plastic strips and glitches , poorly exposed sections, it is all so different from those early days. If I get Crick tram museum finished I'll start on the Bus Spot Ultra Accrington. Then I think I might digitise some early lorry film and put it on the net widescreen and tweaked for quality.
