Yes the hurricane landed today although much of it passed during the night it was bad all morning so after lunch time we finally gave up and tackled the tricky task of getting packed up in the wind and rain. We got a real ducking and I spent much of the morning along with Mandy hanging on to the stand to stop it from blowing up and over in the sudden gusts. No real harm done to any stock or at least I hope not, a few regulars came along but not enough to stop this miserable weather creating yet another wash out day, I bet every other day has been a scorcher, the last time it rained like that at the event we were still housed in the depot building, mind you there was a flood of water constantly running under our tables and we had to keep diverting it's flow to stop getting our feet wet. We only dried off today after we finally got home. I'll put the little film I got that is viewable allowing for wind and rain on with Canterbury, that will give two films from the weekend one on Canterbury and Herne Bay rally the other on Folkestone, Dover and Margate. I've unloaded the cover sheets in the garage to stop them starting smell in the van, we'll have to clean and dry them in the back garden some time. We are hoping to have a few moments watching television before bed, thank goodness we are now back to normal as all the sports rubbish going on for months at a time. Lots of interesting events in Corrie and Emmerdale nice to have a break from reality once in a while. We've the police and our solicitor coming round tomorrow at 6 about the accusations and counter accusations following on from the events in Scotland, today i heard of many other photographers having hassles with police in Glasgow and they like to think of it as the friendly games! I've noticed the spell checker has suddenly reappeared on Weebly which can come in handy but when I'm in a hurry there is little point spending that much time getting all my typos sorted out. I'm running off the Kent films and should have them all ready tomorrow I'll also need to get the cover done for the Liverpool docks truck film. I got quite a few replies on my requests for ID on the Japanese film, a lot of it adds greatly to the info I got originally although I've no idea where the old Modern Tramway journals are where I got the articles on the tour itself, there seem to be a few conflicts on the itinerary, one gent from the USA also commented that one of the light rail shots was of an American set although I've not been able to sort which it is. I'll try and get the captions sorted and then start uploading the rest of the film including Alan Mortimer's work which identifies the major towns but the interurbans are a bit of a chew to disintangle. I leave you with shots from the rally I think those who turned up deserved a medal and enough buses were sourced to keep the free bus service running, the only loser really is that the hospice charity I presume will have a greatly decreased income from the event which lets hope gets back to it's normal sunny self next year.
