The weather forecast looked ok for the trip to Yorkshire today ad indeed it dd pretty much as predicted although the problem came from an accident earlier on the M62 we spent an hour sitting in a mighty long queue and no other route would have avoided it as it was past the turn ons on the way up to Halifax, the tail back in the end according to traffic news was on the M6 which is an amazing long way from a car crash, only three cars involved but in centre lane, my guess on ice or the fog. It was actually less cold on the moors than below. We got lost around Leeds trying to get to the disabled parking, it must be one of the worst signposted places outside of Cuba. Anyway we finally managed to land at the spot which we've used in the past when we go to Opera North performances although we haven't been for ages as the road is always a nightmare and there productions at the Lowry use a theatre best torn down and redesigned or at a minimum structurally altered to avoid weird angles everywhere and 1970s paintwork which looked hideous even back then. They have altered everything in the city centre with buses flying off in all directions, I don't think it actually made it worse it was just that there was very little new to look at and variety has melted away, usually a destination which has something new to offer but the sameness and lack of variety in operators has really put this one down the list. After being bored in Leeds we went on to Huddersfield where we met the local enthusiasts outside the bus stati9on. They've reset the traffic lights to exit the facility so the buses stop inside the boundaries and you can't film them as they wait to emerge, ione of the best bus spots in the country has over 40 years gradually deteriorated in each decade but thankfully you can do a nice panoramic series of shots of the bus station from the grass verge looking down and it makes a popular format as many viewers like the motion and continuity of the buses coming and going. The light was dipping and sun poking through at a terribly low angle but thankfully mission had been achieved, a cup of tea in a retro cafe, ie old fashioned nearly weird in fact near the bus station, no Marks & Spencers today , anyway a Mars bar and some mints for the return journey. In the emails a spam or phishing Amazon message which I saw through and checked with themselves, told to delete. We'd sold a couple more cine films be generally it's a bit quiet at the moment, the magazine adverts should all be out by the end of the week and I'll get the latest releases on Amazon and EBay although they are always on our own shop first.
