straight into the news as we have a late start to the evening and an early start to our morning tomorrow with barely time for the pub in between and the gold finches, dunnocks and sparrows are gathering in huge flocks in the bedraggled garden after two deluges. We had terrific thunder storms last night but no damage and no need to water the garden tonight. We had the chaps from Northwich glass around to give us a quote on triple glazing to try and eliminate the motorway noise upstairs in the hope that when retired I won't wake up so early, it was quite reasonable and we'll probably go ahead with them. It was our appointments with Prof Jari at Manchester Spire Hospital, our appointments had been moved apart, Mandy was in at 3.30 I got there to meet her and Prof was late, anyway he saw both of us together. I need a special mri on the knee, he orders up one which will be fitted to match my bones and hopefully work that much better than the off the shelf version. Mandy is going to have a knee mri and he'll review the damage and if intervention will help or cause more cartilage loss and no improvement, its important as its the knee which gets Mandy up steps. My operation will likely be back end of August. News that Val Doonican has died very sad another of that special generation gone alas and the easy listening world gets another nail in it's fading coffin. Mandy picked up some bits for the rose wiring although still none of the nails which hammer into the mortar, may have to try Fryers Roses for them. Got an interesting message from Roy Simmons who I used to publish Sussex photos with way back, he has spotted a picture in a local history book of Eastbourne bus 22 which is an Aberdeen vehicle DRG452 but seemingly in part Eastbourne livery, fleetname and even Tamplins advert, anyone know the story, lot of work if it was a demonstrator perhaps on hire but what a distance from home for a bus. I put up clips from the Lymm truck film on Youtube, I'm burning the Stoke volume now. Comments are closed.
