A bit of a lay in this morning, quite a lot of DVD orders though so I've got them all ready to drop off in the post in case we were out filming tomorrow but it looks as if it will be sunny in Manchester so deleting that from the to do list , we have a function at the RNCM in the afternoon then a joint church pcc meeting near Middlewich in the evening. It looks more likely that we will cover Bath and Swindon on Tuesday then perhaps trucks at Liverpool docks near Cargills on Wednesday and then York and Harrogate Thursday, of course the weather outlook may well change then so shall we. I've managed to get all the info I got from Monica in Peterborough loaded to the family tree and even extended it with a fresh look at the whole picture taking me back at least a generation in Ireland, there are nowhere nearly as many sources in the ROI as most census info was destroyed at the Four Courts in the Irish civil war. I downloaded my great uncles army service records and squared them up with the accounts of his regiment the Royal Munster Fusiliers, he was a reservist signed up at 15, lied about his age then went on to serve three years in the trenches and got wounded at St Quentin in October 1918 with just a few weeks to armistice. He was returned to Blighty and ended up at Blackrock hospital near Dublin, at Christmas 1919 he absconded home for the festivities and didn't return until a month later, nearly got recorded as a deserter, well he was but he returned so he just got demoted from L/C back to Pvte. We had a visiting vicar at St Oswalds this morning, she had officiated at a wedding there and stayed over for the festivities, she volunteered to do communion today when she heard we had a vacancy, all went very well. I've also been getting more of the Hastings film downloaded, lost everything at one stage when the screen jumped and I pressed delete on something else and everything I'd done for a week vanished, thankfully I hadn't pressed 'save' with today's work so only need to repeat what I'd done this afternoon. I'm in the process of that at present, perhaps I'll get further tomorrow not I know I'm not filming and at least we got the bulk of the orders done. I've so much now stacked up to do but did manage to get the shelf units finished, just a bit of painting and cleaning up, a trip to the tip is needed, when everything is clear I'll set up for trials scanning the old cine films. We need to move some funds around to cover Mandy's new car purchase. The Youtube channel is doing well with a healthy monthly increase continuing, we should have some clips from Hastings to add then get back to the last three locations finishing at Peterborough. Talking of which I'll go there for the archive spot today. Comments are closed.
