After the hot spell we are paying the usual price of summer weather in the UK with torrential rainfall, people killed in the storms and freezing temperatures with permanent goosepimples without a pullover on. I hung on at home trying the online booking system for the doctor recommended by the nurse for my blood pressure problem but by half eight I'd given up and was on my way to work, I'll try tonight and again in the morning but its proving even more time consuming than the telephone calls. Anyway I went in to work where all was strangely quiet on the email and work front although I assume that with lots of our people in Aberdeen that their school holidays must have started already. Did you read that Ian Allan had died last week, I didn't see it until I was waiting at the scanning unit at the Spire hospital in Manchester. Both Mandy and I had MRI scans, Mandy's was for Prof Jari to assess the current level of damage and whether intervention is better than leaving it alone. Mine was for the 3d modeling of my replacement knee which links back to the blood pressure which I need to get down otherwise the operation could be in jeopardy. I popped into the pet store and stocked up on bird food which they seemed to have consumed more than ever in the hot weather of the past two weeks, they can get used to rai again now. Anyway I've swapped a few feeders around, always trying to keep the big ones 9off as the pigeons and crows together with Jays and Magpies bget much more than their fair share. I managed to get the fourth of the northern Scottish social archive DVD masters burnt last night and the cover made. As its so awful outside the stringing up of the climbing roses is on ice until the ice melts a little. I did clean all my shoes a task which I used to do for my dad as a child and also brassoed his tunic buttons, these tasks always take my mind back to the little brass slide you used to put behind the buttons to protect the cloth. Happy days so far away, now a lifetime of work heading to an end but poor old George never got a day of retirement dying in his 50s. Well with the rotten weather I might as well start on yet another of the Scottish archives, mind you their clips get few hits on the Youtube channel talking of which there are dozens of recent uploads on our channel why not have a look and please click on some adverts as you visit the hot spell saw views plummet. We also got the Polio fellowship magazine with the prize winning letter, they didn't even feature the polio eradication bus about which the article revolved. We got the photos and video of the balloon flight so I might load that on as well, fine if anyone lives in Whitchurch! Just seen the BH&D buses which crashed in Brighton, horrific but if driver had heart attack or such medical trauma not a lot anyone can do to help. Comments are closed.
